I dated a guy once who had lots of tattoos, but they were all like this - really silly, stupid ones that looked ridiculous, but in aggregate kind of worked? I think he had a friend who was a tattoo artist, so had received some freebies during that training period, so the lines were often wonky.

I think you’re putting too much on this. My perspective? Don’t change your name. Its not a big deal to be “Mrs. Husband” informally, like on cards and at his work. It is a bigger deal to fill in a ton of paperwork and get new documents to change your name, which hey, happens to be your name!
