I love how the Goopster has lowered the bar so much that Ms. Jolie even displaying the most basic level of rudimentary self-awareness is applause worthy.

Totally.

It's similar to Good Guy Greg and Successful Black Man memes with the racist/sexist/thug etc lede, followed up with the"good guy" punchline. But I like that this is narrowed to one topic.

Thanks for providing some info because I just couldn't wrap my mind around the "reasoning" (I'm using quotations marks because whatever his explanation is, I don't want to hear it) behind his costume. The thing is, I don't buy that he had no idea. Who in this day and age, doesn't know that this is antisemitic? Like,

I've dressed up in various costumes throughout my life. I have never randomly dressed as a racist caricature.

I already replied this on the Gawker post, but I'm really shocked at the number of people who don't see what the problem is here and are giving him a pass. I don't know whether it's because I'm in Europe and we're often confronted with the horrors of our own history, but I find it absolutely shocking.

I've defended Macklemore in the past (I admit it, I actually like some of his stuff & respect his honesty with his addiction battle) but this is just idiotic. You knew what you were doing. And even if it was initially done "randomly," you're intelligent enough to look in the mirror and know better. (But c'mon. This

Too bad Rice wouldn't actually recruit a scholar this way.

In fairness, The Hindu's coverage of the Kardashians sucks.

I love her too. The woman's been pushed down by everyone and she keeps coming back stronger. I have to respect that. She's eighty years old and still working harder than most in Hollywood. So she goes for the easy joke every now and again- so what.

Yes. It is awesome in many ways and stupid in others. It is real life in its shockingness but condensed so we see a lot of the crap focused in on. I like it because it doesn't try to be anything other than what it is. A honest look at what people really do and what they want out of life. While at the same time dealing

This will be the least-weird thing to come out of Florida this month.

SEXISM. Women are routinely shown in less or equal clothes than this at B&N, in gas station magazine racks, on television, in advertising. Now that men have to actually be subjected to this we suddenly have to cover it up? GIVE ME A BREAK.

I am just bummed that the US Weekly to the right didn't take this chance to make the cover, "The Wedding: Kountdown to Krazy"....

Now playing

Yeah, there is substance. But definitely the style is going to be too gratuitous and violent for some people. But the writing is excellent. It's based on the books, which do have more substance but can get (especially in the later volume) a bit... unfocused. The show does an excellent job (in my opinion) of

The whole story, to me, is basically a thorough deconstruction/criticism of the high fantasy genre. So it's great if you're into that sort of thing. GRRM likes to subvert all the tropes of a classic hero's journey-type story, and the point of the violence in the books is, imo, to illustrate that the sort of society

I think the first season is definitely more about the naked people to draw new viewers into a (admittedly) complicated High Fantasy story...not exactly HBO's bread and butter (I see you Rome fans, but there's no magic there...). However, if you can make it through the first season, it typically is reduced down to one

I agree with Ciccionissima. There are tons of sex scenes, most of them are extremely awkward in how gratuitous they are, and they aren't gender-neutral by a long shot. However! I find the female characters to absolutely be the strongest and smartest ones, and for that reason I wouldn't dub it as anti-feminist at all.
