It’s just insane how many shiny full size trucks I see in the SF Bay area with empty beds. The only ones with stuff in it are PG&E work trucks and old Japanese compact trucks with loads of gear on them. There’s no way anybody bought one because they want it. I’ve never met anyone who couldn’t wait to get the keys to one and neither can you. It’s definitely a rational choice. If they couldn’t wait it’s because it’s their only transportation and ticket to freedom from the high school cafeteria.
