My first language was Java, and I already had concepts like OO and References down, so I had a much easier time getting my head around pointers and stuff. Wouldn’t you say Java would be a better entry language if you don’t wanna learn C/C++ first?

They explain the specifications for the data structures to you when you interview. If you can’t implement a data structure when they explain it to you, you probably don’t deserve the job. Again, I’m not saying technical interviews are the perfect way to find a candidate for the job, but I hate seeing inaccurate rant…
