yes, they're tricky. I've shot a lot on them, with and without the vest and it does require practice. But the point was, you can do it for relatively less compared to what was necessary back then to stabilize a film camera.

not surprising, a car you can drive at 10/10ths without dying is usually a lot more fun than one you can only drive at 5/10ths without becoming a part of the landscape. And the new M3, 1500kg for the "light" version? That's pretty porky.
you could do it for a lot less using a $400 glidecam, and if you wanted, the vest ($1600-$2300 depending on which arm you use) on a DSLR like a 60D with magic lantern set in timelapse mode. Then you could stablize the footage in after effects if you got some weird jitters. You could also just check exposure by viewing…
meh. I live in a household with my wife and two daughters, I need this sort of content to keep my estrogen levels from exploding.
agree with you, It's pretty average, but the atmosphere (and sound design) sorta saves it from being a total wash.
I worked at a Microplay in Scarborough (east Toronto) in the late 90s. We were a rental/retail store so we'd have regulars who came in all the time in the neighbourhood. (and we'd have kids that lived nearby that would come in, drop a buck and we'd let them play something on the TV for a bit)

it's not expensive in so far as pro gear is concerned. However, it being a RED you might want an extra one with you in case it breaks down and leaves you high and dry.
Yes, because red bull should just pay for this and not expect to have their name on it. Just like their F1 team.
yeah man, the 17-55 is the best crop-body canon lens around. I just wish they'd gone all the way and made it an L with a mag body... as I've dropped mine, twice :)
makes sense, that almost sounds like sharp.
he's got stuff to make it easier to shoot with, or stabilize the shot, or provide power, but the BMCC has basically most of the form factor issues as shooting with a DSLR, or at least trades some. (it has focus peaking, but clunky iris control, it has balanced audio but it's not phantom power etc.) The guy runs a…
clearly an oversight by the animator that doesn't understand Frank wouldn't kill innocent cops.
hmm, far in the future after nuclear war, science is now magic...
