yeah agreed, the lumia should've been better future proofed, but it was sort of late to the party anyways.

I only got 2 years because I didn't get it on day one, the only difference being after 4.2 I *had* to get a new phone because it just didn't work anymore. Maps were buggered, slow as molasses.

I think the main voice in the "you're being screwed dept" was gizmodo, and now this? Do you guys talk to each other?

still, to be expected. But mango users get the new start screen, which is all I really care about as everything else needs new hardware anyways.

MS doesn't give first gen devices wp8, but a lot of the UI upgrades and Giz says they're dicks, apple stops support for ios at 4.2 on the old 3g (which btw, made the phone unusable) and it's just "time to get a new phone"

?? use the on screen keyboard, just like an ipad.

well said.

Screw itunes, Zune Pass is great! unlimited music for $100 year, on every device capable of running it (xbox, PCs, wp7)

well, it basically tells their partners not to release cheap, shitty hardware that will diminish the win8 experience. They've set the bar, the partners can either do better and profit, undercut price with cheaper hardware and maybe profit, but at the very least there's a benchmark for what the full experience should

or, the asus one with the wacom digitizer and pen should be pretty good.

Won't windows RT have office bundled? That sorta makes the licensing make more sense.

I can't believe I haven't seen "Used WRX/STI" anywhere. you can get em real cheap now.

wii and ps3 don't charge to play online, but both those services are total garbage.

an epic is $40k, not $80k, and a scarlett which can do the same in terms of stills is only $10k

hold the door for me, I laughed too.

not to mention, the little Time machine boxes, what were they called? basically failed after a month of use because they were made with shitty components?

psh.... 12 years ago I tried to procure a 50 inch plasma for an interactive installation I was working on, the only one available in the country was an NEC plasmasync. It was $35,000 but that wasn't the problem, the problem was there were so few (in Canada) that you could only lease it short term.

tru calling? I think you meant dollhouse.

someone used a warping stabilizer on that footage, it attempts to correct rolling shutter distortion in cmos cameras, it does make the footage look unnatural. (take your camera phone out and shoot some video, doing whip pans, you'll see how the video skews and distorts, same with DSLR video)

"inspired" is pretty generous wording... this thing is a straight up metro rip, but it's nice!
