This is my take. It’s definitely hitting a bigger range of players. 12mil already sold. No longer a slight niche genre.

You can cancel summons before the boss fight if no one appears. Same way you activate summon also deactivates and gives you the consumable back.

You can “use” the item that pulls in summon signs to turn off the online function.  The game does a poor job letting you know that though.

I think you can avoid this by canceling your summoning finger and waiting a few mins. Activating a grace after canceling might accelerate it.
