I had a really funny situation but I think it was unintentional. I had cleared out an entire base except for 1 enemy. I was running around looking for him and he yelled out “Stop looking. There’s no one here!” I laughed and thought it was super funny.

This is very true.  But a brief snippet should not, in and of itself, qualify as an infringment.  The problem is that the automated system has no room for nuance or the subjective differences.

This isn’t a laws thing, though - it’s Google’s hamfisted content ID system which notoriously skews the balance in favour of creators and ignores fair uses

Well copywrite laws were written by copywrite holders and handed to politicians (along with campaign donations) to pass. Most our politicians don’t understand the internet and their concept of content is stuck back at recording the rerun of Grand Old Opry onto a VHS.
