Oh sack the fuck up.

I got banned from Jez this past week for writing a comment on Heather H-M's Daily Mail article. The one where she bemoaned how embarrassing it was to read such a rag. I guess they didn't appreciate me pointing out DM seemed to be a major source of their blog...I guess the kicker was my links to the 8 articles that

They don't have to apologize because blogs/not serious bro/criticizing social critics is counter productive because it's a tactic that 'in' groups use to dismiss legitimate criticism.

Way to resort to the "something else is way worse, so shut up" defense.

My prediction of "getting strenuously ignored by Jenna" was a little off.

The premise is that this website isn't in a position to call another "cowardly" or "weak ass" when:

I made a comment yesterday critical of the Amanda Bynes essay. I had 24 recommends. I can still see the 24 recommends in my little dash. I had several replies. If I click to link to the comment the comment is all gone from the article. ABSOLUTELY there is censorship here, it has to really happen to you to see it.

Yea, fact. Once I posted about a study not having enough sources to be legitimate and was dismissed. Wasn't racist, offensive, just questioned the scientific legitimacy of their reporting. I wonder if this comment will even make it in.

No, Jezebel consistently deletes comments that are too critical of their for-profit feminism model or the authors of particularly problematic pieces. Or exiles them to the gray lands of kinja, hoping no one will read them.

I think they might be talking about critical comments in response to some posts on this site.

I don't think it's cowardly to take it down, I think it was the right thing to do. You can't complain about something being offensive and tasteless and then complain when it's removed.... And if it was triggering for people or hurtful for their remaining loved ones then definitely it should have been taken down.

I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, it's great that this girl gets a new chance at life. On the other hand, I have 3 cousins with cystic fibrosis, and all 3 of them have needed lung transplants at one point. One of them has had 2. The other 2 could easily have become court debates. One is 16 but the

More importantly, isn't it sad that so few people opt to be an organ donor that we have these huge waiting lists in the first place? And that no matter the outcome for this case, other people will die waiting for a lung transplant?

Of course, and that is why decisions like this need to not involve emotion.

I don't blame the parents for any of this. If that was my kid, I would do absolutely everything within my power to save her. But ethically speaking, this whole story is so troubling, and I am extremely nervous about a judge deciding such things. There are reasons that we leave the really hard life-and-death protocol

Seriously, didn't they go all "gee, hopefully they won't publicise her name" like yesterday? I don't get the gratuitous meanness. This girl was living her life, being young and yes maybe theatrical and whatnot, but it gives no one the right to analyze these aspects all ironical&shit all over the net. It's pure

I'm always baffled by this type of post. The one where the author writes about exactly what she is criticizing. Three-quarters of the post details all the internet mined info she could dig up for Lindsey then the remaining quarter says we shouldn't be writing or reading about this crap because it pulls focus from

I actually came here to reply to something Dodai had just posted and I am pretty sure most replies to this post are now gone. What she said was "Censorship is something the government does to people. Dismissing comments on a website we run and you do not pay for is not censorship." To which I wanted to reply that in

Because I like this site otherwise. Like when Lindy was getting rape threats and ridiculous comment directed at her, everyone came to her defense and stood up for her. That is awesome. They write awesome things here from a unique perspective. They really fucked up on this one though and they ought to come clean.
