It's pretty simple. City folk don't watch nearly as much television as they used to. They have better internet. Networks are trying to find butts in seats. Rural America's got a lot of 'em.

There will be a time, not too far into the future, where every single camera move in that clip will seem mannered and dated. But the good news is this: that car will always be stunning — simple and purposeful. It's beautiful.

I would take one on a 940-mile round trip drive from Los Angeles to Ren0-Fernley Raceway through several snow storms, above 7,000 feet on six different parts of the trip, through Donner Pass — with race tires up on a rack on the roof.
