Still the best live-action iteration of Superman.
Still the best live-action iteration of Superman.
Who makes a game? And where do they go when it’s over? For approximately 150 people who worked on Prince of Persia:…
To be fair, Star Wars wasn’t hard SF. I’m not going to shit on Star Wars for that.
I’ve noticed more than a few regular commenters slide back into the greys. More “tinkering” behind the scenes?
As someone that has defended DC in the past, I agree 100% that they did not properly build things up and that Justice League could have been wonderful if they had a good build up to a Superman/Darkseid moment like that.
In fairness, none of the Star Trek films or TV shows really show how big these ships are except possibly for the Ent-D. The Ent-D and Ent-B, IMO, are the only designs that lend themselves to dramatic, sweeping shots that emphasize their size, which makes them look really imposing.
Crippling depression combined with a pathological need to retreat into comfort zone games when I’m feeling down, on top of retail therapy. I’d rather put my thousandth hour into Skyrim, Fallout 3/NV/4, Minecraft, or UT 2K4 than actually try to engage something new. I was doing good back in 2016. I made goal to finish…
It’s fine the way it was. I’ll never understand why fanboys feel need to make the movies fit together seamlessly. It’s a patchwork saga, made up as the creators went along, not some meticulously plotted epic.
Because boring, ignorant people saw “3 hour movie with thinking” and went “Naahhh, I’d rather watch Transformers 4 again.”
I’ve always liked the fact that the Tolkien universe was controlled. Compare it to the commercialized mess that is the Star Wars universe and it seems almost noble. Hopefully the new caretaker is similarly restrained (albeit open to new tech and opportunities).
Tolkien’s own works are a world apart from his imitators, though. For one thing, Middle-Earth isn’t really Medieval European fantasy; it takes more cues from the Saxons of the Viking Age, ancient Rome and other earlier eras than it does from the Medieval period. And though it codified the genre of high fantasy, it…
While the movies were in their initial release, it was popular to treat Christopher as some sort of ogre that was denying audiences what they wanted. But his protectiveness over his father’s works should be respected. It was for him that The Hobbit was originally written. It was him who first read The Lord of the…
Which facial disaster camp are you in? I’m a “Leia was creepy, Tarkin was fine”, but a surprising number of people swing the other way.
I had a similar experience signing up for football in middle school. I was never, even once, taught the basics of the game by the coach or anyone else on the team, and was always chastised for not just divining the knowledge from the ether. None of the formations were ever explained, my position in the line was never…
Hi Kevin!
I remember I caught a ball in gym. Once. I was so stunned, I didn’t know what to do with it and I completely overshot the guy I was supposed to throw it to. Calvin and Hobbes was a big deal for me in the 80s, since his experiences mirrored my own so horribly well. I still hate sports. And team activities...…
Ok, this was cool. I was too old for Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain, so I had never heard the song. Mightly impressive, regardless of the number of takes!
We start off the week with a SanDisk Gold Box, discount on an upgraded Eufy robotic vacuum, and an exclusive deal…
Star Trek Discovery is increasingly looking like something that is more ambitious than a mere prequel to the original series. It seems to me that CBS is positioning this show as a true reboot of the Star Trek franchise.
Ass damage is a real issue and I’m glad Gizmodo isn’t pushing it to the rear
