Yeah... considering my own back-catalog of unplayed 360 games, downloads, and the amount of time I've wasted on achievements... I have to say that if the 720 isn't backwards compatible, then I won't be shelling out any cash for it. Definitely not within the first year or two of its cycle- if at all.

Fuck videogame movies. All of them. Now and forever. I honestly don't understand this need to tie film and games together. Videogame movies are terrible, stupid cash-ins that only exist to suck money out of the gullible. What can a film do for videogames, other than act as an extended commercial, and vice versa?

Maybe because both Skyrim and Solstheim are in the extreme North of the pretend planet in which the Elder Scrolls games take place, and it makes sense for them to be snowy.

Achievements are the fucking devil. When I first bought my 360 I pretty much ignored them. But little by little, I started to pay more attention, I started to enjoy that little audio cue when something was unlocked. Soon, I started going back to games I was bored with, just because I had missed a few unlockables.

"Badass 90s Starfighter designs"... a relative term if I ever heard one.

Jesus Christ...

The only thing I gleaned from this article is that I haven't had enough sex in my life. Thank you for making me feel inadequate compared to you kinky ex-mormon singer-songwriter types!

Okay, lemme get on my soapbox:

Yeah, I grew up with this attitude from my parents who were both born around 1950, "Unless you want to specialize in a particular field, it doesn't matter what you get your degree in, as long as you have a college degree, you're going to get good jobs..." I'm sure this was a gross over-simplification even when my

Graduated College in 2005 with a BFA in Oil Painting, because I'm the sensitive artist type (I had lots of other interests but the Fine Arts was the first one that felt like a natural fit for me, don't judge!)

I am a compulsive hand washer. I don't just wash my hands after using the bathroom, I wash my hands after touching almost everything, especially if I've been out in public for any length of time. And I'm not obsessively compulsive, or an extreme germophobe either, I am just very aware of the sheer amount of unclean

So... would it also be tampering with evidence to help treat sexually transmitted diseases acquired from rape as well? Because the distinction is lost on me. Damn it, as if I didn't have enough reason to be ashamed of my home state, here is one more.

I am 5'6" and maybe 130 lbs if I wear really heavy shoes. And I have been single for over 5 years- and I don't just mean "unmarried," I mean personal pan-pizza dinner, going to the theater by myself, sleeping in a twin bed, bitter on Valentine's day single. Is it because I'm short? Seems kind of cruel, but then

I don't completely agree with everything you said... (and I don't even think I need to bother saying which part I did disagree with) but there is a good deal of truth in your bitter rant as well. So... bravo I guess, for so mercilessly deconstructing one of nerddom's biggest sacred cows.

I have never ever heard this phrase before... and I probably should have.

The men and women of the IDF are probably laughing at our prissy American traditionalist hand-wringing as we speak.

That was awesome.

Absolutely. The only issue I have with Playstation hardware is the controller. I loathe it, the stick tension just feels wrong to me, and the controller itself just feels awkward and uncomfortable in my hands.

This crap bugs me. Not because I am going to need to buy extra guns for an easier game adventure, but because I am an obsessive completionist and it annoys me if there are in-game items to collect that I can't acquire "naturally" through playing the game. Especially if one particular item looks especially cool to me.
