Considering the number of 2 and 3 star recruits in the NFL (much less a handful of D1AA guys), I'd say many of them can rationally think they have a CHANCE to go pro. It's minor but real for most.

I don't think anyone is discounting the total value of the education, with most of these kids it's 100K or more, but the equity of the deal. Scholarships don't put food on the table.
