I never thought I'd say this, but even Top Gear's tired format is getting tired. I still watched it, even enjoyed it, but all the driving across open fields and fording rivers and rickety bridges, it's all just so disappointing that they can't bring something new to this format.

Top Gear wasn't always immature and utterly stupid. There was a point in time pre-re-hire of Clarkson where it was a decent and fun bit of automotive journalism. Actually, kind of like Drive and what Chris Harris does. Clarkson made a deal with the BBC when the boring journalism format (it wasn't boring at all) wasn't

Yeah. This special has been pretty lame so far. I thought they peaked in season 10 and this isn't really changing my opinion any. Part of the problem though is that they're already done everything so, it's hard to stay fresh. These cars are a bit too nice too. I like it better when they're driving real crap.

Yea... but doesn't Israel, God forbid, profile ?!?!? OMG !!! We can't do that !!!

I think the airlines should offer discounts to active duty soldiers and cops that will open carry on the flight.

1) still security theater.

Now playing

The TSA's 12 Banned Items of Christmas ... (too true to be funny..)

This. I keep thinking all they did was change it from "I can kill 250 people on a plane" to "I can kill 600 people waiting in line for 3 planes."

I can't tell you how much I agree with you!!! I picked my daughter up at the airport last week and laughed at the lemmings. The best place to create terror would be in the waiting lines BEFORE security.

Exactly.

This is why most folks call what the TSA does "Security Theater". Pretty much the only effective security change since 9/11 was reinforced cockpit doors, everything else is just theater.

So the billions spent on security has really been for naught as all it has ever taken to circumvent it is for a baggage handler to hand carry contraband into the security area and hand it over to a confederate in the crapper. A news report said that this "loophole" cannot be closed unless tens of thousands more

Dummy switches are where you put the good stuff..

I was in Syracuse in my Miata during a blizzard. I could see approximately 5 feet. I was following someone behind a plow doing 10mph. This group came blowing past us at 60 because they were in SUV's. 10 minutes later I passed one of them, upside down on the wrong side of the road (which was a divided highway). Laughed

Exactly. Low information drivers tent to assess the appropriate speed by how they accelerate, never taking into consideration how much longer it takes them to stop in slippery conditions, even with ABS.

I love seeing people in SUVs and pickups blowing by traffic at 45-50 mph in bad snow or ice, then finding SUVs and pickup trucks in the ditch on the first curve you come to.

When it comes to winter driver, AWD/4WD just gets you to the accident quicker.

I used to drive a street touring autocross 4 banger with a header and oversized exhaust to and from the events so I wouldn't have to trailer it. Those moments stopped in traffic and pulling away from lights I never felt like more of a toolbag. Trust me, no one enjoys that sound.

jjjjjjjjjjuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkk

are these cars actually collectible? Just because they are rare does not mean they are worth money. There has to be demand. I don't hear people clamoring for these. I would say crack pipe.
