Not so fast.... You have to look at it the way Ubers highly-paid lawyers will look at it: Uber merely puts you in contact with a driver that is willing to pick you up and take you. It’s not UBER driving the car, it’s that guy with the clapped out Honda Civic blasting Post Malone... THAT GUY is the transportation

While we are at it, can we enact another law that will force UberX drivers to have at least a year of city driving experience before allowing them onto city streets?

If choosing between CA Government and Lyft on this topic, #TeamLyft.

It’s not an idle threat. Odds are that if Uber and Lyft have to reclassify drivers as employees, they’re either going to fire 90% of them or restrict their working hours to ~15 hours or less. Employee status adds a lot of fixed costs per person, and that’s on top of a business that’s running huge losses to begin with

Bingo! The ignorant (blind Trump-haters) will glorify the CPC if it makes orang man look even slightly fiendish. Too bad for them that he is 100% correct in his approach in dealing with the CPC and tactics involved. CPC leaders are the worst people alive. It doesn’t take much effort to be literate in this subject.

I don’t think that’s what he was saying at all. I think the point was the narrative we are being spoonfed is that attacking our trade inequality is inherently bad because Trump wants to do it, when in reality, its a thing that needs to happen with somebody with more than 9 functioning brain cells managing it.

shhh. let’s ignore all the horrible things China’s government has done. Orange man bad!!!

I’m far from a fan of Trump, but ALL press coverage of this situation paints China as some innocent party that is being bullied by Trump.  Just a little bit of research will show that although I don’t agree with Trump’s methods, the status quo on China trade is not tenable.

This is a lot of words dedicated to a fundamentally broken statistical analysis of a non-random survey of an insignificant sample size and some anecdotal stories.

So this is an at-will gig where you pick your own hours, have no barrier to entry besides owning a car, have no interview process, and can quit whenever you want with no repercussions and you make $30/hour. What exactly are people complaining about?

Time to dust off the old alternate headline roundup:

You argue the ‘57 Bel Air was ostentatious, then you post a photo of a ‘59 Eldorado with the biggest tail fins known to man? You may sit the fuck down now, sir.

While initially harsh, you ain’t wrong about all the videos.

I don’t watch them either, I guess maybe the kids do?

While you came across as harsh (but this is kinja so that’s very subjective), I’m 100% with you.  All of my jalop time is in quick bursts at work to give me a brain break.  I quite literally do not check jalop at home or anywhere else.  Not after work, not on the can, not on the weekends, not during commercials.  So

Sorry, I understand that it’s more economically advantageous to post videos on Kinja due to non-skippable ads and whatnot. It’s just that video is a super-duper inefficient way of conveying information, which is usually completely inaccessible to those of us checking the site from work, and this was actually something

Exactly. I can’t watch videos at work all day. Read, yes.

I go on the internet to read. Jesus.

No I’m not watching your stupid video. If I wanted to watch videos I’d own a television. I go on the internet to read. Jesus.
