If trains were a realistic option in the U.S., I would never go through the PITA that is a plane ride if I could get there in under 2 1/2 hours on a train. As it stands now, I’ll drive for at least 4 hours before I even begin to consider taking a plane.

With rare exceptions, using a bicycle for anything other than recreation seems like an awful lot of work (and I say that as someone who raced the things in his youth). Especially if you live somewhere with actual weather and traffic. But I do enjoy pedaling around my neighborhood.

What would it take to get me on a bike?

The original Camaro and Mustang were never muscle cars. Pony cars.

Not that I’m defending Dad, it’s not exactly hard to prove that Perez isn’t as good as Verstappen... but that also doesn’t prove that Verstappen is the greatest driver on the field, it just shows Perez isn’t as good as Verstappen.

Bro.

This is the stupidest comment I've seen on the topic on almost any site and that's really saying something.

All I can say is between Jos Verstappen (https://www.auto123.com/en/news/former-f1-driver-jos-verstappen-faces-jail-over-wife-assault/4598/) and Sophie Kumpen’s (Jos’s victim) behavior towards Pérez, it’s a marvel Max has not turned out to be an even bigger asshole than he is.

Which is why Manuals need to come back...I guess in a panic of experiencing something doing the opposite of what you expect, you’re not really thinking right which is where the infamous parking lot crashes happen. In this case though after the initial surprise which is understandable the next thought should be taking

Can they though? Maybe initially, but they will fade to oblivion like any other car.

For a mere $8/month, you can be a “Tesla verified human” in the auto-pilot software and it won’t run into you. Un-verified humans in the beta testing proving grounds (whole world) do not have this protection. Quite the value.

New York has been a hell hole for what... ever?

Hasn’t F1 always been primarily catered to the rich?

Uhhh, it was way faster...?

“not a good look for the sport”

“Speed was a factor” is a phrase commonly used by police as propaganda to promote the installation of speed cameras and reduction of speed limits as an “easy” solution when in fact the problem is often more rooted on other bad driving habits like not yielding the right of way or failing to signal (and cooincidentally,

I’m sorry, but this sounds really dystopian. The idea that they’ll stop at requiring speed limiters is laughable, this will definitely morph into some kind of “driving credit score” that’ll give the insurance companies so much ammo to fuck us even more.

“Speed was a factor” is such a funny phrase to me. Yes of course it was a factor, if no one was moving, nobody would have ran into anything! Speed is a factor at 10 mph when a truck runs over a pedestrian!

I shared a 97' Grand Prix with my dad as his bad weather car when I first started driving and it had the NA 3800 under the hood. While the performance numbers on paper were average for V6s of the mid nineties, the torque was immense and kicked in shortly off the line and the thing really pulled. I remember wrestling
