I think the rear end is too short to be a 5 series. I was thinking a an early 2000's model VW Passat like the one above. The wheels look consistent with this as well.

I drive a stock 2011 GTI and the little fella does the same thing, every time I take it up a short but steep incline at a particular parking deck. Never fails. Its not dropped, no suspension work whatsoever. I think its just the way they are built coupled with the right conditions. Doesn't make me love it any less.

Yeah... that's your car right there. Price is right and its in amazing shape.

As a designer, I am interested in the overall look and feel of the new R&T. Are you looking to move in the direction of a Popular Mechanics (slick cover / utilitarian) or more towards Wired (matte cover / open format)?

Its... not that impressive? The wheels look like they stole them off of a 360 and then stretched them to fit. The body work is nice, but how about really going retro with it and giving it pop-up headlights and the big orange turn signals. Man, I would have done something so much more radical with $5 million. Kinda

I was thinking that same thing. My GTI, as quick as it is, would look like that against the Ferrari. But then you take something as fast as the 430 and see it get eaten alive... its just remarkable.
