Super Cozy. Like, too cozy. I’ve been in one, and I’m not terribly big (5'10", 175lbs) and I could not figure out how it would be possibly to lay down comfortably in it by myself, less so with another average sized human.

David - keep improving on your previous projects (CJ-2A especially) and keep upgrading, transforming it from year to year. You can keep yourself plenty busy with that (both writing and wrenching), it would still present plenty of challenges, and you wouldn’t be throwing the baby out with the bath water each year.

I came to the comments to ask the same thing.  Rather than continuing existing projects, which could continue to be topics for future articles, he spreads himself too thin on starting new projects, to varying success.

In many states you pay a yearly registration tax. I know in MN I’d have to shell out over $1000/year for the first few years if you have a new $90+ vehicle. Sure, sales tax or income tax is a one time deal for a car gifted, but registration can be expensive depending on what state you live in. That said, some states

El oh el. Hilarious as it is, I don’t think my fingers would allow me to type such things.

I used to see a slightly lifted smart with larger all terrain tires on a regular basis. It looks like it might be a bit of fun! I’m not sure how well the odd auto/manual gearbox would handle off-road duty, bit I’m sure a bit of light duty fun in the dirt wouldn’t be too much trouble.

Interesting...I bought a 1yr corporate lease return 2012 Xterra Pro-4x in March of 2014. It had, I belive 12,000 miles and I paid 22.5k from a dealer. I traded it in 3 years later for, I believe 21.5k with about 33,000 miles and the dealer I traded it to sold it within a week for around $25k. Maybe these things have

Why did you need a Mustang then? If you didn’t need a Mustang you should have stuck with a Corolla. They do everything a person needs to do. Nothing else is needed. Need.

I never understood why anyone would need a Mustang or Miata. I mean, do you autocross and race enough that automatic trans 1992 Toyota Corolla
wouldn’t work for you instead?

LOL. Much Deadpan. Very hard sell. So minivan. Wow!

1978 Porsche (or Porch if you’re a heathen) 911SC for an asking price of 11,000. This was probably 8-10 years ago. The car had no real rust issues, and a pretty minor ding on one front fender, and a perfectly serviceable but by no means show quality paint job, also Exxon Valdez levels of oil seeping from the motor.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned it’s likely a Ford/Saab V4. ;-)

I had to search for too long of a while to find either an E39 540it or E39 530i sedan WITHOUT the dove gray that I gave up and bought a 525i with the dark blackish-gray interior with the sport package. At least it was a stick shift. Such a slow car.

Reading through Michael’s description of Black Thanksgiving makes it sound nearly spot on with my (mostly white) family’s Thanksgiving. Up until meeting my [now] wife I assumed that’s just how Thanksgiving was. I don’t know if its because my family clung onto their ancestral culture (my grandpa was 3rd gen American

You could also call them Jim, or Al, or Kim, or Jen, or whatever their name is.

When I get home and tell my wife about something a coworker did I don’t say, “Mike, my white, gray haired, adopted coworker did such-and-such today.” Rarely do I hear people interested in bringing skin color or physical description into a

A coworker (white) was asking another coworker (white...shit, we’re pretty much all white in the office area of our company as it happens to be) why ‘they’ could use it, and he couldn’t. My reply was, do you want to? Do you want to be calling people by that word? If not, then do you want to come across as desiring to

That sounds very similar to my sleep paralysis experiences. All of mine probably happened before age 12 (I’m 34 now, so it has been a while), and they were downright terrifying. My experiences were something I had a lot of trouble describing to my parents as a terrified kid, but to describe it now it felt like my

Seems odd this isn’t common Jalop type knowledge.

That is, like, totally radical.

Mine has been a pretty good car as well, 2008 E91 (wagon). I’ve owned it for 6 or 7 years, and put about 50k miles on it. I’ve had an alternator and starter fail, and other than that I did the thermostat and water pump as preventative maintenance. No other real issues aside from normal maintenance with filters and
