$2500 is a deal for this car if there are no surprises. You can spend $1500 on all of the necessary parts for the 5 speed swap, including a rebuilt getrag 5 speed and have a very nice e30 to cruise around in. You could also always go the budget route and get used 5 speed swap parts for $500 or so.

Although I have a feeling that touring might have an engine swap, as it does have a 5 lug suspension, this picture is too great not to share

The E30 is still the classiest looking car anyone has ever made.

Personally, a stanced car isn't something I would do to a car, or drive around...but I'd rather a vintage BMW be scraping metal to the ground than to become scrap metal.
