It’s unfair to call Guild Wars “the non sub WOW”.  Neither game plays anything like WOW.  Every expansion for both the first game and the second improved the overall game, so in that respect the games DID grow strength to strength.  Did it ever reach WOW numbers of players?  No.  But that doesn’t automatically make it…

does GW2 really need a sequel right now? I’m not sure.

I think they are due for a big content expansion though like FFXIV just released last summer but beside that, I think the game is still going strong for a “F2P” MMO.

Guild Wars 1 will forever be one of my favorite games.
