I don't like Michael Pachter. I find his understanding of gamers as wrong on many accounts. I think he'd do better at guessing a market's reaction if he knew what consumers want. But alas, he plays a guessing game that looks at the reaction of vocal gamers online rather than the market as a whole.

It likely has to do with getting the rights to the videos. They can only get the rights IF you are in a certain location.

Even with proper marketing this won't be as popular as Angry Birds. Angry Birds was a simple game that had a simple objective: destroy the pigs by sending birds at them.

There's a reason why they had to add functionality: the market. This isn't just Sony throwing their hat in there, it's phones and iPods and every portable device there is out there. And it's also because it's now easy and simple to do thanks to advances in tech.
