I agree, I use all three major operating systems on my computer and each of them has their positive qualities. It gets on my nerves when people are so invested in one being better than the other that they belittle opposing viewpoints.

I hate/d Vista and I feel that it's just a slow OS. You could upgrade the ram maybe. Well there is a Windows 7 skin that makes Ubuntu look like windows (I was running OS X skin just for the lulz for a little while before natty)... Ubuntu is pretty easy to learn though especially now with Unity.

Hacking the CIA's public website may sound impressive, but it's just the public site which is essentially just a PR. Hack a hardened CIA or NSA secure site and then we're speaking.

I'll only take them serious if they take down a top site like google, facebook, or any other top tier government website. But for now they're like a little dog bitting the mail carrier. Lots of barking but the bites don't hurt too much.

I use Office 2010 for my college papers and everyday general writing. For more design oriented school work I use InDesign. Sometimes the Auto formatting in Office 2010/2007 gets on my nerves. I will have to try LaTeX... It looks really interesting.

What is the cheapest/best domain/hosting solution for a personal website... I just got my domain from 1&1 and trying to use zymic to host but it doesn't seem to be working.

I love open source programs but in this situation having Office 2010 is hands down soooo much better than OO and/or LO. Blender is free and here are some good tutorials. I personally think sketchup isn't that great, I used it for a while in high school and am good at it but with studying architecture I have moved on to Rhino 3D and I love it. If you're a student you can get 3DS Max/ all autodesk products for free here.
