Or it’s for the same reason all aspects of weapon behavior like hyperarmor frames, damage bounds, hard critical values and the like aren’t all laid out on the table from the word ‘Go.’ If people are going to min/max for ideal meta at the expense of fun and experimentation, at least make them work for it somewhat.

Perhaps the issue is that people have been so focused on learning what it isn’t doing, the right attention to what it is doing is not being given.

Understandable, magic casting seems hit or miss in this one.

Going to be riding the Dark Souls 3 train for a while yet. Probably until No Man’s Sky drops, I’ll be perpetually living that dark and brutal life. I’ve been putting off ending my first game cycle all week. I’be been avoiding that end by way of endless compulsive co op, but all good things must end eventually.

I have met her. Made me think of Priscilla, even had the fluffy dragon tail. I didn’t make a connect to it being his sister, was thinking of Gwynevere when you said that!

I'm not sure if I have! I either missed it completely or overlooked a connection. Not surprising because o know I missed many NPC events in the first go, and am otherwise running out of opportunities for any other discoveries before ending this game cycle.

One of the most tragic characters of DS1 becomes even more tragic in DS3 and Anor Londo told that story. All the feels for the Dark Sun.

Ah I see. Misunderstood you as saying that cooperation leads to death by trolling. Thanks for taking a second to clarify!

I have literally never seen this in cooperation before. And I do a LOT of co op.

In Souls everyone ostensibly shares the same world to a degree. The balance issues with online elements would be absurd with people using different options but entering each other’s worlds as well. Do you get around this by fragmenting the community into their own optionally-selected gardens? Force those not playing

Strongest argument I have against difficulty options in Dark Souls is online play balance and possible fragmentation of the community as a result. How to balance cooperative and invasion elements with multiple players with different difficulties? That would be a significant challenge to make work correctly.

One on one they are pretty manageable, especially the shielded ones since they are very susceptible to guard break critical. The scythe ones are pretty intimidating though, and dangerous to roll through their attacks. Can’t count the number of times the backswing sent my character flying comically high following a

I’d rather developers focus on creating the experience as they see fit. If balancing that experience means creating a game that’s unpalatable by some people, that is their prerogative. If they wish to use efforts to balance it in different ways to make it palatable for all through multiple difficulties or training

No idea what legs you are using but I’m rocking the same gear but with brigand leggings. You say stupidest, I say ridiculously badass!

Came to find out today where the mysterious blue invader was from. I am now a mysterious blue invader myself.

Ah, thanks. I either overlooked that or haven’t encountered them yet. I thought it might be something like that, wasn’t completely sure.

Last night I was invaded by a red player, normal invader. We were having a nice fight for the first couple of minutes, but then I was invaded again by a blue phantom who could attack me and could attack the invader. They both turned on me and proceeded to gank me.

Stumbled into this let’s play shortly after the first episode went live, and followed it all the way to the end. Such an amazing LP, still one of my favorites on YT from all time. Kind of odd yet interesting to see it featured in an article, let alone a book, and even more odd and interesting that I guessed the

It’s a level more complex than DA Origins. DAO trimmed back the tactical elements a bit but the spirit is still there, I guess. If you enjoyed that element of DAO, BG is very much got more of that to offer, more uncompromising and brutally difficult if not prepared, though. If you had/have any love for the AD&D 2E & 3E

Mostly true. The in-game dialogue in story mode alternates between mostly boring and occasionally cringey but some of the cinematics are worth sticking it out for.
