blanked buttons? HAH! that's for middle class, the TRULY budget minded get blanked out gauges. No, not a gauge cluster designed without a tach (honda do this all the time), that's middle class nonsense too, this is straight up blanked out tachometre. such as found in the (often FWD) "Brighton" class of Subaru's

It actually costs a good bit of money to add in auto up/down windows because of the necessary anti-pinch sensors and other necessary hardware. A senior engineer at a big 3 automaker I talked to around 2007 quoted the incremental cost at around $100-200/window. It is not just a matter of adding a special button.

Whoa, someone spilled some Bloomberg in my Jalopnik this morning. The effect on auto loans will be much smaller than the effect on home loans. With the Fed buying all these long MBSs, essentially they've been swallowing a large portion of the entire country's mortgages... when they stop, long rates will start to

I guess I'm in the right place then.

People don't seem to understand the burden of proof. Thanks for keeping a cool head. Cheers, mate.

Actually, J. Walt is someone who I actually know, and I respect their opinion based upon their profession and my history with him. Additionally, the position which he is taking makes complete sense to me.

Know your audience.

I just have poorkinsons disease. :(

Don't judge the legal system based on one extreme case.

Not as unlikely as the Rolls but here is another. James Garner's 442

Agreed. Just bought my first 911, a 2005 996 targa, white, perhaps one of the very last 996 targas ever made. I love the huge glass roof and glass rear door, just gorgeous from the outside and from within!!

Yep, it's an opinion. Kind of like some folks back in the 50's and 60's (and earlier) who had the opinion that interracial couples ought to be able to get married.

Screw the Up!, I want an XL1.

It is an opinion, but if you've learned even a little bit from history and if your scope is a bit broader than a national one you'll realize it's mostly an observation.

Never been much of a Jetta fan, more of a Golf/GTI guy. But this thing looks pretty good. Take notes VW.

Well the convo over on that other thread is pretty spot-on, but in summary, a lot of spec racing series either banned them as aero devices or they proved to be too heavy and impractical for long-term use.

Just like the Raptor. Give us real street legal beadlocks, or leave off the fake stuff.

Need some education on older racecars. Do the "turbofans" (not sure if that's the appropriate name) on K. Edgar Hooner's front rims actually do anything work? My understanding is that these were used on some older racing cars (maybe Group B???)

I just hope they don't kill solid axles on the next generation of Wrangler.

They might be a halfway decent off-roaders, but I'm not going to miss the Land Cruiser's morbidly obese grandchild. The Camaro is probably sad because it doesn't have anyone with a bigger blind spot anymore.
