Chicken tax.
Chicken tax.
Lol, mines a 97 4x4 4.0 5 spd. I can't part with the thing. I can't kill it either. Sure I maintain it but at 320000miles and original drivetrain you'd think I would replace it by now. Nope, thought about those FX4 level II from a few years back but now that Ford axed em, the current owners looking to sell them used,…
Ram is offering a 3.0 v6 turbo diesel mated to the "awesome" zf 8 speed in the ram 1500 by the end of the year
The only reason why there's no market is because nobody is offering it. And I'm guessing they're not offering it because they want to keep charging $10,000 for the 'big' diesel option for as long as possible. I'm also guessing manufacturers are probably afraid that offering smaller diesels will cut into the sales of…
Why use a V8 for this? It seems to me Ram is still the only one doing it right in the 1/2 ton segment with the small 3.0L diesel. 1/2 ton that gets 29 mpg? That makes sense. Otherwise, don't you buy a 3/4 or 1 ton? I'm sure they studied the market, but it makes no sense to me to put a big heavy thirsty motor in a 1/2…
Back in the day (the 70s and 80s), Nissan made a slew of diesel motors all using the same bore & stroke. They made I3, I4, I5, I6, V8 and V12 variants. They were mostly for heavy applications like buses and trucks. I'd love to see a brand new I3 diesel being implemented in smaller applications.
I hear that. Say a nice 2.5 4pot oil burner in the new ranger with a 6 SPD manual and 4x4. Sign me up!
NICE! Your move GM, now might be the time to dust off that old Duramax 4500 maybe? Else Ecoboost, Ecodiesel and [Eco]Cummins will be eating your Ecolunch pretty soon.
This makes me happy. The Karma is such a beautiful design (MUCH more sexy than the Model S, IMO) and I was worried that it was going away. While I was dreaming the impossible dream that Ford would buy Fisker and turn the Karma into the next Lincoln (as is and also with the option to ditch the batteries/drivetrain and…
To be honest, there really hasn't been any issues with any of my VW's (I'm on my 4th one). I have had small issues here and there with my Coolant Temp Sensor and MAF sensor (the latter caused by my CAI in all liklihood). But my engine is incredibly stout. You can raise the boost to stupid levels and run it like that…
Not only that, but VAG has been screaming lately, with dramatic improvements across the board, in quality / reliability. If I were in the market for a fun little turbo car, this new VW would get my attention over the stagnating STi.
It was 34k, and the actual power output was 270hp.
They went back and forth on that. We'll just have to wait and see what happens when it's released next year. The way I look at it is that Ford has phased out N/A V6s everywhere other than the Mustang and F-150 in favor of EcoBoost 4s. It seems to make sense that they would "finish the job".
Go on...
Are those 19 inch wheels?!? On a hot hatch!?!? Can someone tell me the addresses of who made the Euro pedestrian impact standards? I have a piece of my mind I'd like to give them.
The prices of VW's have always been a little higher than their competition. I'm not surprised there. You do get a lot for your money IMO. The fit and finish of VW's compared to ricers are day and night. The GTI was always more expensive than a Civic Si. The only thing that let VW down was that they didn't…
I also think they don't look right on these cars, but they have to differentiate it from the GTI, which now has dual exhaust but didn't used to. Or at least they think they have to differentiate it, but I would disagree.
Random fun fact: The Ford GT also broke the roof-crush machine. Super safe car, from a crash-testing perspective. People crash those things all the time, very few get hurt or die.
