While (almost) certainly mistaking it for a gun wouldn’t have happened if it was a white student, I call BS on a white person with an openly carried gun not freaking people out. That shit is scary. It seems like most of the high-profile mass shootings at schools are by white guys.

Sounds like someone is under the sway of the Shoelace Cartel.

That’s ok, could be worse. My girlfriend recently asked me if I remembered that time she sunbathed topless in Mexico. I had to explain that wasn’t our Mexican vacation. No denigration to her for having done it (hell it’s kind of hot), but too bad it wasn’t me. She didn’t believe me at first. Like I’d forget something

This is exactly the sort of thing that happens in mainstream sports coverage. Watch a baseball game on TV, and in between the pitches they will do crowd shots. They tend to find a lot of attractive women fans to focus on. They’ll get B-roll camera shots and the production assistant will switch to that camera or call

huh? Maybe you have a point for an offline game, but overwatch is online game with continued updates for balance and so on. Seems like they took her down for a few hours, fixed it, and restored her. Honestly, considering other possibilities, seems to have been handled really well.

I don’t know about the NHL, but the MLB has a service to stream. It’s pretty pricey though (not as bad as the NFL). I think it’s about $120/year. There’s some restrictions too. If you’re in the broadcast network for the Mets (sounds like you might be), you can only watch away games.

This is good analysis. As someone who had been craving a good way to view things online (first cut the cord, then moved abroad), I can attest they just stuck their fingers in their ears and kept on with cable. Now MLB, NFL and other networks have their own streaming services and ESPN is out in the cold.

Ha reminds me of when I played regular soccer vs. my ESL students. Once we scored a goal, they just opened up on us. Was fun though.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like there are a few different formats.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

Cool that you play it. How else does it differ from regular soccer? The article says the court is different, so are there fewer players? Looks like it’s barefoot, so is the ball any different? Smaller? Softer?

I think 6 six figures is a reasonable over-under. 7 is possible, but you asked for the over-under.

Come on people. Use the line responsibly. Call in tips real tips, like about how Melania violated immigration law before getting her green card and therefore has to be deported.

Oh Man. I’ve played sand volleyball for years, including doubles. That’s tough enough. If I had to run all out, and not just during a volley, I would just die.

Yeah, you sound a little biased. Not everyone is going to go out for the football team. It’s nice to have diverse options. Frankly, I enjoy both traditional sports and video games. Not everyone who plays video games is some loner in the basement.

Yeah, maybe the interest groups are separate. That’s fair. I assume they were promoted more to encourage people to go view the articles.

It’s a bit disengenious to compare opening a blog for an interest group to tax evasion.

Street fighter I’m with you on, but I do enjoy some other esports.

How exactly is this a problem? Didn’t they basically just do a sub-section (“compete” or something)? Click it it if you want. Skip it if you want. You’ll get a few major articles come to the front like anything else, but that’s true of everything.

Exactly the point.

Yes. Sort of a lesson about what happens when you double down on the status quo in front of a storm of changing formats and viewing culture.

So wait... you mean that we’re never getting ESPN8: the Ocho?
