I’m sure he’ll say, “we had the biggest crowds ever!!” But deep down it kills him that the crowds are small, just like it kills him that he is perceived as an illegitimate president.

My first thought was that Trump in the White House, all friendsies with Putin, and criticising the intelligence community...it’s killing GHW Bush.

He’s always struck me as the epitome of class.

I met him once, and while I disagree with him politically on almost everything, he was a kind and charming man to a nervous bunch of 20-year-old college girls who were there to sing for his anniversary party (one of the more random things to happen to me in my life). I can’t forgive his son for what he did to this…

Politics aside, I do send him my best wishes. I also feel for W, who I’m sure would rather spend time with his father than be at the inauguration. Because real talk, “responding well to treatments” at age 92 is pretty guarded language.

I’m not old enough to remember the details of Bush’s legacy....but this letter will always be a way of looking back to a time when things weren’t as they are now.

Someone on here posted before the election about being at college with Trump, Jr., and Trump showing up to the dorms, slapping him in the face, calling him names, and telling him to go put a suit on.
