I’m in Canada, and one of the most irritating things about yesterday for me was some pundit I heard on the radio who was like “All that stuff Trump was saying about other countries cheating America, it wasnt about *us*. Canada won’t have any problems working with him.”

There may not be a silver lining now, but this is not the end of the story either.

How exactly would embracing the Russian agenda help them? If anything jettisoning it helps them, because it calms the GOP Russia hawks in Congress. Marco Rubio, John McCain and others appear to be ready to stand in opposition to closer ties with Russia.

What worries me is that Putin will move openly against Ukraine, and Trump will do nothing. There are already over 1.5 million internally displaced people in Ukraine. The Russians roll in and take Kiev like they want to, and a whole new flood of refugees streams into Europe.

He has publicly disagreed with Trump on Russia in the past. Short of resigning, Pence really doesn’t have much choice right now. I think the moment he has something solid to use against Trump, he will declare him unfit so fast.

Pence’s agenda will move forward no matter which role he plays. At least Pence does not appear to be in Putin’s pocket.

To all those who thinking of themselves as God-fearing Christians, but voted for Trump:

For me, it is less about the people who would admire him, it’s about the fact that Roof wants to be martyred.

The jury just gave Dylan Roof what he wanted. The way he decided to defend himself during the sentencing phase and insisted that he wasn’t mentally ill or remorseful, it seems to me that martyrdom is what he wanted.

Clearly is does not “sound objectively not good”. That would be a subjective statement. If it were an objective statement then the Inuit would also consider it to sound “not good” and wouldn’t do it.
