@MMaestro: Everything you said there, pretty much agree with. Only thing I was saying is in the gaming field the job title of "technical director" regards a high level programming position; like the equivalent level of a creative director. The work or tools a TD would do in film is done by a technical artist in the

@MMaestro: And why is that? An animation TD does a lot of rigging and other technical tasks, where a video game technical director is the highest level programmer. It's a great example of how these terms should be observed with a very open minded scrutiny and not holding to too specific a term. This doesn't have

@MMaestro: Too exact? I didn't know speaking in broad generalizations was the best way to make a point.

@MMaestro: I don't know why I didn't just search the internets first. I found this:

I don't want to be a buzzkill, but wasn't mocap invented film and tv animation before being used in games?

10 seconds too long. I thought it was funny when Mario tried to jump away, felt panicked.

The difference IS the name to the commander. I would agree that the commander may be out of touch, and hasn't caught up with the times, because otherwise we would have likely seen the same opposition to previous games featuring similar modern conflicts where you can purposely kill American armed forces.

And those SNES standards were pretty high in comparison to the NES. Game still sports more layers of parallax than Super Mario World.

I had the same Halo experience in the Beta. I guess there is a new basis now on the amount of power done, or something, so explosives can get people the option to boot right quick. I think Bungie need to revisit this one.

iPhone is the boxed wine of video games.

@Eric Glitter Johnson: It won't impact sales, but it will likely prevent protests and boycotts, which are bad for PR.

@06RallyBlue: Often, not always, something is deemed art when it raises great points or questions coming from the viewpoint of an individual (or a few individuals.) Great paintings questioned the authority of the church or government, it questioned the value and meaning of life, and sometimes it simply questioned

@06RallyBlue: Time heals wounds is subjective, but I said "sad but true." The anniversary's of horrible events aren't suddenly good, but the impact isn't as strong.

It looks like at the very least it creates a good starting point.

@06RallyBlue: Time heals wounds, one of those sad but true things. People always get offended or worried about a major media release like a movie or a game coming out "too soon" and not giving enough "appropriate" time (which really is a nebulous term) and really only get accepted when they are handled artistically

A rose by any other name still wears a turban takes place in Afghanistan.

So is this something anyone can pick up at the store or is this some sort of promotional thing?

@Lusitania: "It doesn't matter" isn't true. When designing with the NTSC color gamut in mind the colors you make your textures are different than they appear on TV, so if these screen caps are coming directly from a Wii kit (where the textures would be less vibrant) they would look different than photographs of the

@RealmRPGer: I don't think the DS was $250 at launch. I remember the GBA was $100 at launch, but I don't remember the DS price at launch.

Turn the slider to "Off" and it should photograph fine. Otherwise it's like photographing smell, it just won't ever happen.
