@Pyrefly: the sheer fact that the game is called "Modern Warfare 2" instead of COD6, or that this and COD4 were set in modern times instead of WW2, are a testament to IW and how they don't want to rehash either. Don't confuse a Madden or Skate, which are major rehashes and coming on a yearly basis, to something

@Cookie: well i wanted to clarify to see if there was some kind of language barrier to see what he might have meant. i guess i wanted some more insight since mr Totilo promoted the comment for one reason or another. #kotakugameclub

@heromoua: your point #1 confuses me. Are you saying that IW try to make it realistic, and that they failed on this level? This was the most believable level I have seen from IW, hands down. The training of the local soldiers, the soldiers sitting around an active army base. How is this not realistic? Especially

@pillarofdawn: Well I am pretty sure that is the level you get prompted about before starting the game. When the message came up I told her about the controversy, and she chose not to play it. I played it later that night when she was sleeping, then told her about it this morning. She was happy she didn't play

@Ad-hominem: Agreed. If you shoot your teammates or the group of guys watching you from the balcony, they could have made you "fail" the same they do in your other examples. I purposely DIDN'T fire randomly because I was afraid it would fail me. A little inconsistent and confusing. #kotakugameclub

The training level was probably one of the most immersive training levels I've ever run across, and I was impressed with the tone and look. I don't feel I gained any more skill from it than any other game, or COD4, on a technical side.

"Finally a game that pizza delivery personnel can sit around playing, bitching about the lack of realism."

David R. Foley strikes again. #retro

I just picked up my copy of MW2 today, and the packaging felt weird. I opened it up and it's like it was attacked by trivial pursuit pieces.

Don't care because I have to be at work in the morning. And I have my copy coming through Amazon tomorrow. #daynote

MTV always had stronger guidelines for editing than the radio (back when I listened to both circa 94-98) and I was often surprised to find out phrases were bad. Often I heard the song on the radio and paid no attention to certain phrases or lines, but after hearing the MTV version I was more interested in finding out

I only rented the game, and plan to pick up the GOTY copy, and maybe someone can answer a few questions.

Bad Company 1 had some great features and potential, but in the end there was something about the aiming and feel of accuracy to the weapons that did not resonate very well. I didn't feel like I was shooting anything, and had a very hard time discerning what was going on on my TV. While I was playing on a CRT tv at

@Friedhamster: I hate No Doubt's music more than I hate Activision's games, but that doesn't give a publisher the right to do what they want against a contract (assuming that IS what happened.) #bandhero

@Contra666: "It also contends that Activision refused to change the band's appearance beyond the agreed songs,"

@SocraticMethod: On the flip-side, a lot of Kotaku readers seem to HATE No Doubt, and the hate for them should not condone apathy on the matter, or acceptance of breaking a contract. #bandhero

I know some games for the original game boy were like this. Samurai Shodown, Fist of the North Star. I don't know how many of them you could use the link cable on, if any. #fightinggames

Anyone know what was intended vs what it was doing? I am level 11 with Lilith and am not sure I was seeing anything wrong. I wasn't phasewalking a ton though. #borderlands
