The Kangaroo’s big front greenhouse reminds me of an earlier low-slung, four-wheel drive vehicle designed by Giugiaro, Subaru’s lovely SVX.

I’ve never seen an Evora without a large and ill-fitting cover over the passenger-side airbag. Is the black alcantara on the dash of this car a factory option, or did the owner have it custom done? It really spruces up the interior to not see a big plastic rectangle sticking up on the dash.

The diesel version of Chevy’s Cruze is a good option. It’ll get 52 mpg on the highway, according to Car and Driver’s testing. Plus, it accelerates, brakes and corners better than any similarly priced hybrid with comparable fuel economy.

I know sedans are sales poison, but the Continental is so nice looking and broadly competent that I was expecting it to do better.

That is absolutely stunning.

A handful of modern track toys like the Ariel Atom might beat 1.4G, but for the SZ to do it with 90s tire technology (and fancy features... like a roof) is just incredible. No Boxster or Corvette sold today can corner that hard.

The Regal is a great choice, if he can do without the third row.  I think the GMC Terrain would be another good option... it’s nice looking, and gets spectacular mileage with the optional diesel.

Great post. Lots of info here.

Agreed. That Imperial is awesome.

The GS does have a dour interior, but at least the seats are awesome.

Get a lightly used 2018 Chevy Cruze diesel. It meets all your needs - leather and a manual are available, and plenty of room comes standard. Plus, it’ll still be under warranty and handling your daily commute will only take a gallon of dino juice.

XLRs are rare, quick, and good looking. Plus, they’re cheaper to buy and service than any of the staff suggestions.

What kind of mileage do you get in real-world driving? Is it less tightly wound than the Miata?

What is it like to stand like a colossus above all others?

Nice looking, too.

Most of his commentary is ill-informed, racist or otherwise off-putting, but calling for the mandatory relocation of hundreds of thousands of homeless Americans is the worst.

This is damn good reporting. Cheers to you.

The convertible Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 should easily fit the bill.

The Solstice coupe is a great choice, especially with the dealer-installed kit that boosted horsepower to 300.

IF that’s a legit price, it’s a lot of car for the money.
