Thanks for sharing that link. I like the show (I love Nick and Jess, sorry) but I am uncomfortable with every single racist joke, it really makes me wonder what the hell the writers are thinking.

Think you missed the point, which is that men desire youth at the expense of character in women, and women value more than looks in men. (Obviously not ALL men and ALL women, but enough to cause a cultural problem.)
Hollywood typically goes from hot girl to mother figure and then to grandmother figure without developing complex characters for women to play. Not sure if you're male or female, or if you've had this experience, but I and a number of the women I've worked with over the last 10 years seem to inevitably fall into…
The "litigation diet plan" explains SO MUCH about the lawyer I work most closely with. I'm a lawyer, too, but not one with litigation experience, so I still consider food important while he's always fine with nothing. Blows my mind.
I am a Nick Miller girl, but Winston singing about puzzles nearly converted me. I love this show so much.
Very true. We did a jack and jill weekend for my sister and her husband, and the rental was for 16. We had about 25, I think, maybe even a couple more. We brought our own linens, we took out the trash, we cleaned the kitchen, washed dishes, etc. There was absolutely no way in the world that I (or my sister, or her…
Marry me?
I'd like to write a strongly-worded thank you letter to the cop who paid attention to the weird angle and went after the guy.
You, sir, are pretty awesome. All the best to you on your new path forward.
Hmm. I always liked Ross, and was indifferent to David Schwimmer, but this just put him a million points higher on my list. Thanks for sharing!!
My family and I will still throw out "these mashed potatoes are so creamy" at holiday dinners every now and then, especially during stressful moments. Love that movie, will love Sandy FOREVER.
YES. I have always said if I have kids, and they are daughters, they will not be cheerleaders. I don't care if they want to do it because Sally so-and-so is doing it, or they think the skirt is cute. I do not like that cheerleaders are objectified, but more importantly, I do not want my imaginary daughters to be…
You just said this so much better than I did elsewhere in the comments on this article. I totally agree, there's an important distinction that people are missing.
Well said!
THIS. This is the kind of commentary that has not been seen as often as I'd like in the media, on these boards, facebook, twitter, everywhere. You made my day.
Why aren't there more people talking about how a man in a Beetlejuice costume (older and married, of course) shouldn't have had her gyrating all over him and talking about how it's crazy and inappropriate? I love that Jezebel has called out that song/video for being rapey, but let's not perpetuate the double standard…
It's a thing, but not what you're thinking - it's basically brownie mix with 1/4 cup of milk mixed together, stick it in the microwave for a minute or so, and out comes a quick-made fresh warm brownie instead of microwaving a pre-made brownie. There are boxes with mix for 2 servings, but there are also recipes you…
I actually considered that tonight when I made myself a brownie mug (before this article was even posted.....) and will make sure to do it next time!
I'm all for the microwave mug brownie, actually, even though it takes work. It saves me from the inevitable - that is, eating a whole pan since that is the alternative for baking, and that is sadder.
That may be true, but as someone else pointed out somewhere in these comments, he would basically be prevented from any/all non-British themes due to British imperialist history. Seems a little unfairly restrictive, and at least there is some emotional resonance behind the choice.
