Hear that soft hissing noise?

Unnecessary vitriol? You're referring to your original post, right? Where, in response to a story about a man who was the victim of a hit and run, you posted:

There's a thought! I could try a radioactive diet and gigantic levitating books.

Cyclists are vulnerable road users, so that's why there's more talk about them having a right to the road, moron.

I'm a black person, but when I'm out and about, I'm completely intolerant of black people being rude.

#1: Except in a very small number of places, cyclists are not required to ride in bike lanes. Particularly in the US, where there is stiff opposition to proper protected cycleways, the bike lane is "the door zone", and dooring is the #2 cause of death+injury in urban areas.

Fact: road bikers on average put out more power than MTB'ers. It's been proven with power meters, and even on the same racers.

"Here's a pro tip: If you come in contact with a biker in your car, stop and check on them, even if they didn't fall."

How is your little rant not self-righteous itself? You certainly seem to consider yourself better than those other cyclists.

Now playing

Seriously though: the chances of anyone actually calling this the "phantom badger": slim to none, same as the "Fairchild" (A-10). It's going to get some other nickname. Any ideas?

Isolated incidents of law enforcement and judges acting inappropriately, counter to mainstream society's views, is NOTHING like the mainstream society view in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia that cyclists are reckless, lawbreakers, and deserving of their injuries.

No, but ask any cyclist who's been hit, and I guarantee you they've heard a driver lie.

Because "accident" implies it was not foreseeable or avoidable *and* that nobody was at fault.

Your gas taxes don't even remotely cover the cost of the roads. Your (and my) property taxes and income tax do.

"I can't condone this fool's actions, but now I'll go on to do exactly that!"

Do you wear a jersey for your favorite football, baseball, hockey, or basketball team? Do you wear a baseball cap for a favorite baseball team? Or for your favorite NASCAR driver, or their sponsor? *SOME* cyclists do that too.

Since you're writing this in a post about a woman who struck a cyclist who was doing nothing illegal, felt proud for doing so, and posted it on twitter: are you speaking in favor of vehicular vigilantism, as well as holding an entire class of people responsible for the behavior of a minority of its members?

"A lot of drivers hate cyclists. A lot of cyclists hate drivers."

Bike races are held under varying circumstances - sometimes you can close the roads; sometimes you can't. When roads are open, or closed, there are a combination of police and "marshals" - volunteers - as well as lead and follow cars. The race is usually announced in the area media, by police/towns, flyers

Goddamn, that's some amazing response time right there. About ten seconds from when the car blows up, the safety car shows up, and either someone from the car has an extinguisher in-hand or someone else does. I think it was 15 seconds from fire to fire-out.
