Looking at that list and half of that list consists of titles from existing properties, those are not new IPs. Splatoon is a new IP as it's wholly original content, Captain Toad is not as it's a Mario spin-off. He also counts Devil's Third as a new Nintendo IP but not Bayonetta because it's a "third party title"

Sales, risks and the success of creativity in this industry are mutually exclusive. There's a shitload of creatively mature, interesting games on PC or other platforms that you know NOTHING about because they sold like shit.

We're talking about creative maturity, there's nothing mature creatively about Nintendo's low-risk approach to software. Nintendo doesn't take great risks with their franchises, at all. A great risk would be to put out a no-name new IP like Splatoon, making a new sports game or RPG or adventure game and then slapping

While I respect Miyamoto's stance, the fact that most of this industry's creativity revolves around third parties and not Nintendo means I can't take his remark seriously.

Yep, that sounds just like typical Michael Bay bullshit.

I did not. I was fucking about, but if true? Well... Not surprising, it's Michael Bay.

Intelligent design.

Not Hulu or Netflix...? ;_;

Exposing kids to sex at a young age isn't the problem; objectification and oversexualized imagery is. So, some kid seeing a dildo isn't going to mentally scar them... At least until they're like, 27 and they realize they were playing with their mom's hooh-hah toys. They aren't being exposed to sex and even if they

Resolution != Developer problem.

Consoles aren't PC's problem. The reason why PCs are stagnant for years is because optimization on PC is non-existent. Consoles set a standard because they're easier to work with over time than PCs; one of the main reasons why things like Mantle exist is because of how problematic D3D/DX and OpenGL are for

And who says the PS4 has reached its limit? You are aware that the same argument of "it's been tapped out" has been made in reference to every console since the SNES days, right?

Same thing's been said about PCs too. I hate to break it to you, but all hardware has limitations, and all developers point them out. Short of them being low-budget indies that AREN'T making visually-intensive? There isn't a dev that is satisfied with limitations. Carmack used to be very vocal about the workarounds

I bought it. I don't regret it.

"I heard you like dragons..."

I was fine with your opinion, but then you said you like pickles on your sandwich.

I have no faith in humanity.

... Do these things sell enough to warrant making more of them and bringing them outside of Japan? They have literally been milking the same tired mechanics they introduced back in the Budokai series almost 15 years ago.
