Yeah, this is just terrible methodology.
Yeah, this is just terrible methodology.
Yeah, seems like all this could possibly do is remove salt (and other tasty stuff) or add water (thereby lowering the concentration of other tasty stuff). Just cut the bacon thicker!
It is, presumably, a test of the prospects' lateral thinking.
Thanks for clarifying. I have lived in two cities for which my original statement is true, but I obviously was ignorant regarding NYC.
I couldn't agree more. As I say, the practice is perverse, because public services should not be apportioned unequally when that can be easily prevented. Since Mr. Lee had raised the issue of neighborhoods suddenly getting better public services once rich whites supplant folks, I thought I would point to the…
Gentrification causes improvement in public services because those are (usually) tied to property tax payments. This is a bit of a perverse arrangement that only grows more so as public services expand and increase in price.
I second this. I greatly enjoy being able to get (usually free) simple tax advice throughout the year, and I have much more confidence in our CPA than I ever did in H&R Block.
Nobody likes a talking hat.
Um, does the USA get to take credit for military victories that predate its independence by several decades? Because we haven't been doing that.
When we won independence,
That's because you're a British colony that's allowed it's own flag for some reason.
That's a really good counterpoint, wasn't thinking of it that way. I guess the real equation is "everything in movies creates a more exciting narrative than it does in real life," or, more directly to this point "things with a low probability of having exciting consequences won't be introduced in a movie unless it is…
Yeah, this is totally true; I lose weight very rapidly if I actually make a noticeable effort. Sorry 'bout that.
Lol, that was hundreds of years ago (not really, like 8). Nothing really juicy or compelling comes to mind. These folks spent an inordinate amount of time in the shop because we were a captive audience who liked bicycles and were paid to be nice to people. I did fix Dick Butkus's bike once! That was scary.
I agree. I think that everything in movies is more likely to be dangerous to anyone than it is in real life.
It angers me just remembering this. I'm going to go for a rollerblade-free bike-friendly ride after work to get that image out of my head.
Well, my skepticism has been clarified by a commentor who witnessed the scene. It wasn't an issue of who has the legal right to do what, just whether the account was plausible. Seems like it is.
Thanks for clarifying; I was having trouble picturing the scene based on my memory of the paths.
Although I am more pro-cyclist than the majority of this board (low bar: cleared), I have to disagree. They explained why they were there in a manner that allowed the situation to come to a close after they had been confronted with profanity. I don't think that the photographers could have handled it any better once…
As a former frequent user of those paths, I am having trouble picturing how a large chunk of the path was blocked still leaving "plenty" of room to get by. I'ts possible, depending on the exact location, but not likely.
