I can't believe the ONE time an author gets unprecedented creative control over a film adaptation, it's fucking E.L James and 50 Shades of Grey.

Let's be fair: Stephanie Meyer should get some of the blame for the books as well.
Not defending keeping a gun where the kid could get it, but it's called poverty.
People. Stop keeping guns where your kids can get them. It really isn't that hard.
But the vaccines aren't 100% effective so you're still putting yourself at risk going among the disease-ridden Californian upper class - albeit not as high a risk as those who were never vaccinated.
Being a domestic violence victim does not disqualify her from being a perpetrator of child neglect.
If you're afraid you're doing something that's going to get your kids taken away from you, then you should probably have your kids taken away from you.
As a child whose mother failed to protect her from abusive stepfathers/boyfriends, I say fuck her. Children are utterly defenseless and can't leave an abusive situation under their own power. This woman's kids didn't choose her shitty boyfriend.
It is SO hard for me to subscribe to this theory. I want to be generous of spirit and forgiving, but my sympathy well is close to dry. This has been one of the most therapeutic pieces I have read in a long time. My sister and I are estranged from our mother and when people hear of this they usually paint us as spoiled children. "But that's your MOTHER!" they say. No matter that she was and is an abusive psycho who both my sister and I tried our…
I think sometimes abusive parents have a tendency to believe the lies they've told themselves about how wonderful their children's childhoods were. Particularly if their children turned out to be decent adults.
As a trans woman invested in owning a vagina, literally (monetarily) and figuratively (emotionally), and physically (yeah that one is obvious), I find this silly. If there are issues with the play, then add some monologues about SRS vaginas. I think that would be awesome.
Oh, my fucking God...
oh my god
Madonna spells about as well as I expected.
