This was also a very large and rather unexpected storm. When something like a hurricane is coming, they have time to preposition trucks and field crews to make repairs. Friday's storm didn't really give them that kind of warning, so they're scrambling to activate and mobilize whatever they can.

I remember running across some photos not too long ago (possibly even here on Giz) where someone achieved this effect without any Photoshop. Basically, he used a ridiculously dark ND filter and extremely long exposures. Over time the people just averaged themselves out of the picture and the scenery was all that was

I do a lot of backpacking, boating, and about half my job is outdoors in very difficult field conditions around sensitive instruments. At those times, I wear a watch and leave my phone somewhere safer. Otherwise I leave the watch at home and use my phone.

I'd rather see something that focuses on Pym and all his misadventures than just on Ant-Man, even if it is Pym. The best thing about Pym is that he's been Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Yellowjacket, the creator of Ultron, not to mention that he's often an abusive asshole.

I can understand properly cooking ground beef, but anybody who orders a decent steak cooked further than medium (and even that is pushing it) is dead to me.

I leave my hands mostly open the entire time and just touch each finger with the thumb of that hand.

There very first one up top that says "Reply to this post" should create a thread. It's a poor layout that the arrow points to all the icons for other posts, but it's actually referring to the original post.

I saw this roll out on Gizmodo and so far I'm still not such a big fan, but I'll give it time.

My biggest concern is that if I want to read anything I have to do a crap-ton more clicking. Before I could just scroll down, maybe expand a couple conversations. And the ones I expanded stayed expanded and I could glance back and forth between them. Now I look at one thread, then click to another thread, then click

Did you learn that in your abstinence-only sex ed class?

It's a nice idea, but a potential failure rate of 10-20%? That's still a huge obstacle to overcome.

As much as I like Canon, it seems sensible to keep them all compatible.

I think I'd be happiest if they kept her alive through this one and maybe (maybe) took her out in a sequel, if they make it that far. Most people only know MJ, but Gwen and Peter were together for a pretty respectable time. They deserve to get some real big-screen treatment.

Come on, it's easy!

Mine (the one in the picture) is a Camillus, but it's around fifteen years old. It looks like they don't make that style anymore, and I can't say what their current quality is like, but they do offer what looks like a reasonably nice one: [www.camillusknives.com]%27%27_Folding_with_Marlin_Spike

One of my favorite knives is a rigging knife like this one. It's got what's called a sheepsfoot blade, which, while not as safe as the one in the article, is designed to reduce the risk of accidental stabbings when cutting something near yourself. It's also got a great marlinspike, but that's of limited use if you're

Maybe it's my eyes, but I really don't see the problem. The soles are not any kind of bright orange. It's a very muted orange/brown that, to me, doesn't look all that different from a raw leather color.

I like these. They may not be as handsome, but they're incredibly practical. They're also cheap enough that I keep one in my desk at work, one in my car, and one each in the random bags and backpacks I use for different purposes.

It's a more common name than you might think. Heck, it's even mine.

My friends and I have organized a big Piranhaconda viewing party at a local bar. It's going to be beautiful.
