Since my PJ is in my great room, I need something with high lumens - I’ve crowdfunded several Anker products and even got a loyalty code to go in on their Cosmos, but it didn’t have some minimum reqs for my setup.

I had the LG in my cart already when I decided to pause and confirm I would -actually- be able to get

Sorry, was going by the actual title and context of the article. It doesn’t call for “What’s a decent, budget projector to watch movies”, and since most people consider “Home Entertainment” to include gaming from console or PC -that tightens the selection parameters. Finally since the word “BEST” is also in the title,

My main display in my great room has been various 1080P projectors shooting at a motorized 144" screen for 10 years now. I was expecting this year to be when I jump to 4K.

When you ask what’s the best projector to upgrade to:  For me, the current answer is NOTHING.

Shit, that was me too in my Dad’s 88 Supra Turbo - that car didn’t even feel like it was fast when you were already at 120mph. I never raced it and it was mostly speeding when alone on the empty freeway - but also had close calls which eventually convinced me to be more careful.

Somehow I survived my own stupidity.

It would be nice if the Kishi worked as a wireless controller when it’s just folded by itself. Sometimes I hook up an external monitor to my Samsung for gaming on a bigger screen with DeX, and it would be nice to just use the Kishi in that scenario, too.

Before they made a lot of options to attach batteries on the back, I just put velcro on a Switch case so it could hold an iWalk 10,000mah battery pack. I picked this one for 18W PD, and it has short built-in cables so it’s pretty clean. Also cable end that goes into the bottom of the Switch is a right angle.

Tip for the bidet-curious, don’t get the ones with arms sticking out for your common area bathrooms or any with kid access in general. I had to keep replacing a set until I figured out the little kiddos who visited were probably leaning on that control handle and breaking it.

Mesh is for folks who can’t hardwire GigE backhauls from our WAPs like we do anyway. ;)

I can’t stand doing work on an ultrawide for some reason, so gave it back to work. Waiting on release of 32" OLED so I can upgrade the dual 1440P 32"s that I run now.

Going to the website, it shows that this is actually -not- a GaN charger. Imagine how much smaller it could be if it was? Or at least make it flatter and less cube-like so it fits in tighter spaces better for storage and transport.

Was leaving another spot and wandered by this monstrosity. Fascinated, I wasn’t sure whether I should disturb them to try to get them to move or not (to see if they would still remain connected).

These are great - because unless you have a dongle that does pass-through power, it lets you charge your phone while your lightning port is otherwise occupied with a set of wired earphones or other accessory.

Actually got the best of both worlds, because there are “halo” style straps that will adapt well with the Quest 2 now. Ordered mine last year from AliExpress and it came in about 20 days - but I think they’re showing up for faster shipping on other sites now. That very much improves the comfort and balance of the

Umm, not when your room is quite large - my gaming rig and consoles are in a hidden rack behind my projector screen and I’d prefer to keep my current setup of not being forced to plug in to charge after every session. It’s quite convenient just swapping in a fresh set of rechargeable AAs as there’s a bank of those I’m

THIS - we have a little cubby in one of our ottomans next to the couch where controllers and remotes can be in easy reach. Luckily my controllers of choice all still use AAs so I always have a freshly charged set to go.

You hit the nail on the head - planned obsolescence. When the internal battery inevitably fails, most consumers are forced to buy a replacement product instead of replacement batteries - which is what these manufacturers prefer $$$!

I think you captured some additional reasons here - some people say it’s minimal aesthetic, but to me it’s lack of personality/generic design in favor of cheaper mass production to maximize profit. Why would I reward that with my $?
