This is like the virtual snowglobe live wallpaper I use on my Android phone. Through the years, the best parts of my personal phone preference of Android are showing up on my iPhone that I use for work.

That cost less than what my Amazon Echo originally cost. I got my VeraPlus when it was on sale for only $100 - that’s nothing when I think about my time saved from hassling with lesser/flakey/slower/limited products that still are dependent on the cloud and are less guaranteed to work with my existing setup.

Nah, for the functionality this gives, I’m not going to buy another hub just to add “buttons” or for every other little thing I add to my home control - which is why I think this thing is backwards. I already have wifi, zwave, and zigbee that I can and should be able to buy “buttons” for.

My VeraPlus does both Zigbee AND Zwave, so... <sunglasses>.

I’m glad you made this suggestion as you saved me the trouble, lol. At least a Dash button connects to the home’s wifi instead of being dependent on your phone to be present w/ the bluetooth on.

“ that connects to your smartphone”

Oh snap, that takes me back - I’ll see your MythTV and raise with Snapstream (which eventually became BeyondTV).

Exemplary job! I’ve been loving it and that’s why I put the link in the original post. Wish there was one for the original Echo Dot, though - all the ones on Amazon are now for the 2nd gen Dot and I have a few of the old ones still.

I hope you didn’t lose any data - the false sense of security of calling these a “backup drive” can be a problem to people who don’t understand this should be one facet of a redundant system. The fact that these things are just growing in size makes matters worse - as with any hard drive, you can wake up one day to a

Highly recommend if you still have IR devices and want to voice control them w/ Google Home or Amazon Echo. I bought the bundle that came with a keyboard instead - as I use that w/ my HTPC.

For any conversations like that, you invoke the “Cone of Silence” skill - this gives you a microphone blackout that you can custom set for 30 seconds to 5 minutes.

I understand that - but it’s a flaw in design that other truly wireless earbuds don’t have. Imagine someone who wants to use these one at a time to always have a freshly charged one to swap out - it can’t do it and that’s what people are complaining on the Kickstarter campaign message board about.

Yes, that’s how most of these types of retention methods for in-ear buds work - as I’ve had many in the past. One company even called those things “earsprings”, lol. They help a bit, and if not for those I’m sure I would have lost them already.

Weird, there’s no app for windows and I sometimes use it with my PC to watch movies and shows.

Maybe you need better bluetooth on your computer - I do this frequently and don’t have an issue. I was amazed that I could walk from where I sit to watch my projector to my kitchen sink which usually will cause most headsets to crackle and it did not crackle or drop out. Audio sync has been fine for me -granted I just

I experience your same issues, except Google works relatively well - better than it’s been with any of my headsets in the past. I do have fit issues, though as they eventually work their way loose.

Fit may vary with your ears, but I cannot get a good fit to stay with any combo of the included fit jackets and eartips. The best I can hope for is I get a good seal, then 10 minutes later I have to twist them back in.
