Bless her! Heart and intentions in the right place - she had the tinkerer’s spirit. Just flawed idea and execution.

I’m in this same set of mind, except it would be with my cringing as I watch Jed York’s smiling doughy face by the trophy.
Alexa can take notes and add it to Evernote - I’ve seen a “My notebook” skill on the web somewhere. Whether she can access it later and read it back to you after searching is another story.
Yes, that exactly describes “those people”!
I live in an HOA-regulated, gated community - which is kind of a rarity in SF Bay Area real estate. I’ve had reasonable expectations of doing certain things with my property once I owned my own home only to be told - “you can’t do that, you should have read the CC&Rs before you bought!”
Nothing has disappointed me…
That picture of the current gen Mazda 3 just saddens me that there isn’t a Mazdaspeed variant of this body style. (Used to drive a 08 MS3).
They really need to release a competitor to the Echo Dot - which allows you to have the great voice recognition/control of Alexa while pairing it with whatever audio you want.
Best thing about Z-Wave is that our scenes will trigger and execute even when the WiFI router needs to be reset.
I’m reminded that somewhere in my hoard of old electronics and gadgets, I have a disc labeled Bleem! It had the sweet promise of being able to run my Playstation games on my PC until Sony killed them off.
When I hear neckbuds, I think of this dude I saw at the store once who had a gnarly matt of skintags pretty much covering his neck. I was gonna link to pictures of skintags, but decided against it, lol. I’ll let you brave folks google image search “skintags + neck” on your own.

When they release Echo to Echo intercom, I’ll buy more.

I keep wondering what people would end up doing when they put these in and not realize that missing feature. I guess Apple users don’t care for now because none of their devices have it, but I imagine once Apple decides to invent that technology it will be annoying to go back and redo your outlets with new versions.

Easy, you’re no longer dependent on the phone or remote for this type of control. This setup allows you or anyone who visits to voice control the setup without having to locate your phone or remote. I’ve got quite a few home automation going on that I set up even before Nest was a thing - but much of it was not…

For others that have this and Echo - does the control process with Alexa skill still require you to control by saying “Alexa, Tell Harmony to...” instead of just “Alexa, turn on ...”?

Yes it does - I’ve been using it to control my IR devices and with HA Bridge I’ve had simplified voice control before Logitech even released official Echo support. When I say “simplified”, I mean there was never any “Alexa, tell Harmony to turn on the projector” bullshit - it was just “Alexa, turn on projector”.

For awhile now, I’ve wished that you could search within the “my Apps & Games” section. You see the search magnifying glass, but when you tap it, it does a global search of the store - not within your app list.
Have you watched the anime “Your Name”?
I bought a bunch of those Scosche pads and put them everywhere, haha.

Hmm, can’t resist - but how accurate is the “ready in 5 minutes” from the description? I have a family of 5 and if I can have these doing the bulk of the work while I whip up the hollandaise, that would be awesome.
