It’s just that with some instances when I asked, I was told the “American style” of how a dish is prepared didn’t sell well and establishments did not get the traffic until they adjusted the menu/recipes to appeal to the local palate.

Did you ever consider that the locals like it that way? I noticed this while traveling to different countries that expecting even the mostly American-known franchises to cater to my American palate was an uphill battle.

You’re not kidding, I love my Axon 7 - it’s a hard combo to beat at that price for a new phone.

Um, we just have our little Echo Dot play whitenoise when we want - I’d rather spend $40 on that. Bonus is playing other types of sounds and lullabyes and then have it wake you up with its alarm clock!

I was too sad to say the same thing, but I thought it too when I saw the photo.

That’s been my concern with the introduction of these “home automation” items that are not part of an overall system. You buy a Nest, Hue, or something like this - but to me it’s designing the home automation system backwards. Better to start at the hub and do your homework with what system/protocol will work for your

And top with Hollandaise sauce!

Amazon Echo Dots are now $50!

Rumor: Ponyo is baby Cthulu. Discuss!

I have been using HA Bridge to interface Echo w/ my Logitech Smarthub since last year and it’s been pretty flawless. The best thing is setting macros or “scenes” so that a single command invokes my projector, receiver, lights, etc. to all the inputs and settings I’ve scripted. I don’t even bother with my smartwatch

Damn - traditionally, we did a “funeral” during homecoming for the rival high school’s mascot, “Apache Joe” - where someone from our school would dress up like an Indian and we’d eulogize him.

These are very beneficial to anyone who carries lots of small doodads in their bag. I’d rather put them all on a GridIt where it’s easier to pick out stuff, than the tedious job of dumping stuff out of a small bag just to find that one charging cable or flash drive. This means that the GridIt lets you pack things flat

It won’t pick up a whisper , but I just spoke softly in a quiet room from 12 feet away and it picked the command up just fine. Now if the baby is crying, all bets are off - any competing noise can drown you out enough for it not to hear you properly. This happens at my house during parties when I’ve given up using

I think I know what screen he was seeing before he threw it down like that...

Reminds me of a scene that would happen in My Name is Earl - I miss that show.

The size comparison between either is not the issue - it’s that the title is flat out wrong because obviously there were portable battery packs for laptops available more than 10 years ago when it suggests that this is the first one ever. These were designed to be flat and thin enough to slide in next to your laptop

This title seems to totally ignore that these existed more than 10 years ago. This literally is “a portable battery pack for your laptop”.

Gotcha! Actually, vertical multi is how my wife insisted I set up her desk at home.

Me and Wifey have wondered for ages why didn’t car/SUV manufacturers just do this. We LOVE the sliding doors ever since the kids joined us, but have been successful at avoiding minivans so far unless we’re renting for trips.

If this is true - you just sold me on a couple! Thanks for sharing and answering my primary question, because I’m converting a boatload of my media to HEVC and I have some displays around the house I wanted to stream that media to KODI on.
