if you put 20% down you don't have to pay mortgage insurance. You can't even deduct rental costs now, nor should you be able to(in my opinion). Interest on mortgage payments is a much better deduction because it incentivizes owning a home...so how do we first establish what a good deduction should be?

What to you disagree with? I don't think bullying happens that much, but I come from a town with about 7500 people in it and more then half of the town intimately(read: non-sexually) knows each other, so to me most bullying issues are overstated.

No, they tried to make it simple but when they did that people found ways around it and very rich people paid very little so unless you want to impose a flat tax on people over a certain income level there is no way to make it work.
