That’s an interesting idea.....
The idea of 1700’s English sounding like Southerners is frankly horrifying....

*nod*
As does being a supermodel.
He WAS delightful.
I wouldn’t say he did a great portrayal of Quicksilver, but whatever he was doing WAS entertaining as hell.
And I thought the AoU version of Quicksilver was fine in the movie.
I think he got killed off long before he could prove himself good or bad in the part.
*shrug*
People were SO impressed with how accurate Psylocke’s costume was in those early pictures we saw.
Weird casting of Olivia Munn be damned, her costume NAILED IT....
......and then apparently the rest of the costumes in the movie are just lame and boring....again.....still.
WHY????
I just don’t get it.
I get where you’re coming from, but no. They’re really totally different things, in a sense.
Being able to control your own voice and mannerisms is actually very different than mastering someone else’s voice and projecting your mannerisms and inflections through it.
It’s like having amazing speakers super tightly…
Honestly, given how awesome Mystique’s ACTUAL background is, I much prefer Romijn’s more mysterious and unexplained Mystique over JLaw’s disappointing waste of Mystique’s story.
*shrug*
But I was just talking about the look itself.
JLaw looked silly. Romijn looked awesome and gorgeous.
If they’re keeping JLaw around, then…
Nah. The BvS trailer was bad for entirely other reasons, including, yes, revealing the entire goddamn bloody movie....
And yea, that movie is going to suck.
But this isn’t better. In fact, between the two movies, this one actually looks like it’s going to be worse. Or at least this one makes for a worse trailer.
Like,…
Sure, but they could’ve just stuck bald Xavier ANYWHERE in the trailer and people would’ve been like “oh, finally, that’s good”.
I doubt ANYONE saw this and went “OH MY GAWD! HE’S FINALLY BALD!!! HOLY SHIT, THIS MOVIE!!!”, which tends to be the aim for the end of trailer big reveal moment.
Honestly, for as much of the MCU as is set in NYC, I’m actually starting to be impressed that they still haven’t blown up a single NYC bridge.
It would’ve been if it weren’t half the trailer.
I dunno. I won’t make that assumption either.
There are so many problems with this movie already that I fully accept the possibility that the casting director is just bad.
I mean....they cast Olivia Munn as Psylocke, and look who they got for Apocalypse.
She might’ve auditioned and the casting director was just worthless…
I’m just gonna copy paste this.
Don’t misunderstand me on this part.
“It’s not about him looking bad. He looks fine.
How slow do you think I type?
Better part of 3 minutes, maybe. If that....
Sometimes they’re pretty great. Like I don’t notice Andrew Lincoln’s not from The South on The Walking Dead, and Hugh Laurie was amazing as House.
But yea, this sounds like she’s trying and VERY clearly falling short of the mark.
I won’t say the inability to do an American accent is the same as an inability to act, but even if she HAD nailed the accent, she wouldn’t’ve been anywhere on my list of choices to play Jean Grey.
It’s not about him looking bad. He looks fine.
It’s just laughable as the final “big reveal” moment for the trailer.
Like no shit, Xavier’s bald.
We know.
We’ve already seen umpteen movies with Patrick Stewart as the older bald Xavier.
It’s like if they used the final moment to reveal that Magneto puts on his helmet.
Woo…
Trying so hard to make this moment feel dramatic.
Actual success at making this moment feel dramatic = 0%
The “destroys bridges in New York City” trope. How original.
And what’s that? MORE bad looking CGI? You guessed it.
The closest Apocalypse has come to not looking pathetic.
Yep. More bad CGI.
The trailer hits a certain point, and from there it’s just all bad CGI all the time.
