A water fountain is not a tool of death and maiming. A gun is. If Little Timmy kills someone with a weapon, that weapon should be restricted from anyone who may do the same.

And yet...no one cares. Whatever side effects it may have, it's not enough to complain about. But more importantly, read through the rest of this thread. I've already removed aspirin from the example list and replaced it with something else (I don't remember what; it's in the thread somewhere).

A meth addict with kiddie porn..and hermaphroditic organs. On a slow carb diet. Yeah, that. Just another day at Gizmodo.

...you're either an idiot (which I hope you're not) or you're just naive. Many of the comments on Gizmodo actually ARE serious. Just assuming it's not doesn't give credit to the people who actually have a serious comment to make. If you want to assume everything's not serious, go ahead; but then, why are you taking my

You know what's incredibly sad? Dedicated GPS systems have existed for over 10 years now. I love the pace at which technology moves, but sometimes I think it's just plain wrong for a 21-year-old to feel..."old".

Do you mean the physically oldest device or the device with the oldest technology?

I know that's an option, but do you realize just how much time and other resources would be required to set up such a system? Not to mention that creating holding companies withing holding companies, etc., looks suspicious if and when people find out about it. It's really not worth those kind of resources just so that

Well, then, word of advice for the future: making political jokes is fine, but when you start it off with insulting names for political groups (a la "gun jumping liberal drama queens") the funny is lost. It's hard to recognize a joke when it's cloaked in an insult.

Hm. Weird. Your last sentence implies conspiracy theorism is mostly a liberal thing, whereas in my experience it's usually been more applicable to the opposing political party. Interesting observation...

I figured Jesus just got the terms eukaryotic and prokaryotic mixed up. And the headline image, I assume, is just supposed to be a representation of blood, not meant to imply that red blood cells were the target of the treatment. I'm guessing it was more probably white blood cells.

So basically, this is exactly the same (in principle, not process) as current viral iPS cell production, except instead of modifying your cell's DNA, it just adds the necessary DNA in a plasmid so that it degrades over time (hopefully after it's been translated enough to induce the stem cell change)? This way, if

I don't know about you, but I live in America. Around here, being a porker is expected! xD

Not really. You can just relate it to something she knows...for example, something like "Nodosaurs are one kind of ankylosaur just like chocolate chip is one kind of cookie. There are other ankylosaurs that are kind of the same but different, like different kinds of cookies."

It'll get there eventually...if we assume that DPs learn from their mistakes (maybe not a valid assumption) and that either theaters stop being cheap or higher-quality tech gets cheaper (again, maybe not valid), it'll get there.

Heh, I'd try, but I don't think I'd ever believe it enough to continue it every morning xD .

Same reason: ghosting. It's just not caused by cheap filters in that case, it's caused by the parallax barrier not diffracting the light precisely enough, leading some light into both eyes. Depending on how far away you hold it from your eyes, and the distance your eyes are apart from each other, that needs to be

Of course they would. Just because something's outsourced to India doesn't make it instantly untraceable (especially when backed by a major company like Google), and I'm thinking the Mechanical Turk route would be even easier to track.

If we were covered in thick fur, I bet we'd shake, too. I shake my head to dry my hair quickly when I get out of the pool...

PearPads, PearPhones, and the like? That's from Nickelodeon. (Yes, I watch iCarly. Shuddup.)

What depth information do your eyes have? The only depth information they have is the info contained in the stereoscopic movie. Each eye only sees in 2D anyway, at all times. The only time you get depth information is from stereoscopy and depth cues like shadows, obscuration, etc., and ALL of those are in the image
