CD Projekt Red isn’t a publisher. It’s a developer. CD Projekt is a publisher that owns CDPR and GOG. They are doing things right for the most part but had those series of shitty blunders when it came to their social media.

That on paper relationship ignores the mentality that drives Activision’s culture. Activision is about making more and more money every quarter, not about using that money to fund passion projects that might not see returns for years. It only works if you ignore the fact that Activision only cares about the bottom…
People who wear seatbelts die in car crashes, too.
Ever heard of Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, or Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee? Oh that’s Game Freak, not Nintendo? Okay. Ever heard of Metroid: Samus Returns?
I never thought of Zero Mission as a remake of the first Metroid game. I looked it up and it really is but for some reason I never made that connection and I was super connected to the GB platform for a long time, even during those years. Weird.
So in 2019 you guys removed two 2018 games to add a 2017 game? What the heck?
Metro Exodus is coming to Steam too. It’ll just take a year. It saying steam exclusive or not really doesn’t make a big difference for the end user. My point was that pitch fits when games are only on Steam like they do when games aren’t on Steam. Bottom line is there are games that are exclusive to steam for a period…
I’m not saying that it’s unreasonable. It’s the most reasonable aspect of their microtransactions which makes sense since it does affect gameplay. People would probably have a bigger problem with the microtransactions if all of them were unlocked the same way as cosmetics. My point is simply that you shouldn’t say…
Yes. XP boosters for example are microtransactions since you can just play the game more to get the same XP. You can earn all Overwatch’s purchasable loot boxes by playing. Those are still microtransactions. Same with HS cards and HotS characters and cosmetics. Same with Battlefront 2's unlockables.
Wargroove is a recent example.
Sure but people that want games on GOG don’t pitch a fit when it’s not on GOG nearly as much as when people do about games not being on Steam.
You could argue that the way Valve buys exclusives is by buying the developer. Dota 2 is a Valve game because they hired Icefrog
lol what? Ever heard of Artifact?
Seriously, though. Wargroove is currently only on Steam as far as the PC release goes.
I don’t think it’s fair to say that microtransactions don’t affect gameplay when you literally just said two characters can be unlocked through microtransactions. It’s not as bad as it could be but it’s still a gameplay affecting microtransactions. It’s more fair to say that loot boxes don’t affect gameplay.
I’m under the impression that you have to have the legendary skin associated with the legend token purchasable skin to even be able to buy it. So you need to have opened that particular skin in a loot box, crafted it, or bought it with apex token before you can purchase the other skin with legend tokens. That’s pretty…
You can not unlock characters through loot boxes. Loot boxes are purely cosmetic. You can only unlock characters with Legend tokens which you earn by playing or Apex coins which you buy.
Try the OnePlus Travelers backpack.
Yet you never see the same people bitch about steam exclusives.
Overwatch at best has half a black character. Orisa’s creator, Efi. I say half because she’s not playable but is an important aspect of Orisa’s origin story. Basically more than 0 points because they have a black female character (which allows people to do fan art and cosplay), less than 1 because she’s not a playable…
You have no idea what woke means.
You didn’t notice it because it’s not important to you. It’s noticeable to people who feel that their demographic has traditionally been underrepresented.
