Yanno, I think James Cameron could make one hell of a great Aquaman movie. Does anybody know more about filming in underwater environments than him? Imagine the possibility of Aquaman-AQUAMAN!!-becoming respected!

I have nothing but praise for Orphan Black. It is one of the best science fiction-indeed, one of the best of any genre-shows to cone out in years.

Here's some love for the battle at the end of Chronicle. Love this movie!

Best moment of the episode: Weaver telling Pope to watch his back, and a moment later, Pope saying "you too."

Speaking from the perspective of a male writer, with numerous friends who are female writers, I'm guessing the male pseudonym was chosen because of the genre. One of my friends, a woman who writes horror, just blogged about the perception of gender among authors. Www.allisonmdickson.com if you want to read the post.

SHARKNADO VS. BIRDEMIC IN THE ROOM!

Of course, this appears to ignore women who are self-publishing, or published by small presses. But then, the industry seems to prefer to not notice that aspect anyway.

I'm a big advocate for using open-source software. If open-source foods (example: sustainable?) are available, I'd support and purchase them. Monsanto is as close to a supervillain corporation as anything Cobra Commander dreamed up.

'MURICA!

I love a nice, ludicrous idea. I may turn this into a ludicrous story, sell it, and make ludicrous pocket change.

All those gigantic curved panes of glass are giving me production sticker shock. I used to own a '59 Edsel, and to replace the hugely-curved windshield or rear window would have been ridiculously expensive. It's so pricey you can't even find quote anywhere.

That's the finest nonlethal military vehicle ever made!

The Bolivian graveyard is screaming to be used in a post-apocalyptic movie. Somebody please make this happen.

This scene from Fire in the Sky is still just as terrifying now as it was twenty years ago. Back then I was in college and it still scared the shtako out of me!

This one terrified me. I think I was a couple years younger than 13. I could never watch it again.

For years, these two scenes from Damnation Alley haunted me, to the point that I still break out in cold sweats whenever I see a cockroch or a scorpion.

Matt Mason has the soul of a warrior poet. I know this show will never stay on the air that long, but I see him becoming a tremendous leader as an adult.

Nope, no moral dilemmas here. Not at all. Nothing to see here. Please move along.

This series has definitely gotten better with virtually every episode. I am hooked.
