Yes, I was about to say that I was surprised they didn’t spear it down but knew it would come out wrong.

Modern nuns are actually pretty much able to go wherever they want. The sisters/nuns that used to teach at my Catholic prep school were very educated, had expensive cars, and could do whatever other women could (well, except have sex and be overly materialistic).

She told me something along the lines of “oh, that doesn’t really apply to us” but she didn’t elaborate on it.

I have a high school friend from Hong Kong who has three sisters (and no brothers). Her parents didn’t seem to mind not have any sons. All are highly educated and she went to USC for undergrad and grad school.

I ignore my high school classmates whenever I see them and pretend I went to another school. It’s not easy to do when your graduating class only had 70 people in it.
