They use two completely different engines dude. The Miata uses its Mazda 2.0 Skyactiv-G engine (naturally aspirated 16 valve DI dual cam) and the Fiat uses a multi-air 1.4 liter(Turbo, single cam). They don’t even use the same transmission. The Miata is a new tranny as of 2015 and the Fiat uses the old 6 speed from

They’re bloggers…gooder”engrish”ain’t”they’re” priority.

but can confirm it doesn’t handle like a 3 series, but is a solid car.

The C Class is nowhere near Honda Accord levels of refinement. A decade older Accord, maybe.

Dear Raph,

on the one hand a merc 4matic wagon w/these many miles is probably worth $4k, oth the overall look feel of the C class is comparable to a upper trim Honda accord, which is unsurprising as the C class is a mid level sedan in Europe... except you’re paying merc prices on the parts and labor, cause import... can’t wait

From what I have seen that is pretty much exactly what the Ecoboost can do with a good driver. 13.8 for a OK driver that goes a few times a year.

“305hp and 0-60 in 5.6 seconds from a fire-breathing, rip-snorting V8? That’s cute.”

The B8 Passat only competes with the E Class and 5-series in the minds of some VW marketing hacks. In real life it competes with cars like the Ford Mondeo, Renault Talisman, Opel Insignia and Peugeot 508. And lower trim Merc C-Class and BMW 3-series, mostly as a more family friendly corporate lease highway cruiser.

Scuse me if I misread something but how exactly does killing of the Sportwagon make them go upmarket? 3-Series Tourings are a thing right?

Forget the space elevator - those never made any sense. They need vast amounts of unrealistically strong material, would be screwed up by weather and bombs, and would be catastrophic when (not if!) they failed. Much more sensible is the Rotovator, a tether in orbit that dips down low to catch payloads and swings them

Second time in 2 weeks that I get to use this:

Why would you be “terrified this one might have 200k+ on it” if they “just don’t die”?

Still doesn’t sound as dumb as competitive vaping.

Give this thing a modest lift with some more knobbly tires and you have a badass overlanding vehicle for way less than a taco with a rooftop tent.

Eh, every single older vehicle is going to be “crap” in something like this.  Are you telling me you’re not going to buy a 1990s Miata, 70s BMW 2002, Datsun 240z, etc, just because it’s not as safe as vehicles made today?  Come on...

This was a tough call. I was ready to hit the CP button due to age, unknown miles, oversize rims/tires, and the spare on the roof. But then I did a search around Jackson, MS where this van is and found that AWD vans under $6000 are scarce. So assuming the miles are not outrageous and it does run and well as suggested

The Focus Active crossover was going to be a low volume vehicle (fewer than 50K annual sales). Fiesta is still available through 2019 and Fusion for a few more years. And Mustang. There will be more vehicles five years from now than today. Stay tuned!

If you’ve got a VAG product with 192,000 miles, and someone makes an offer within $500 of your CP asking price, you take the fool’s money and hope it doesn’t break down before he backs out of your driveway.

NOPE! Sorry. Nuh-huh. No effin’ way! It just ain’t worth that much, probably by a grand or two or three.
