Pennsylvania has some really steep roads. I drive for a living in Utah. As someone that’s lived in PA, getting up their roads can be even harder. Sure, they don’t have steep roads that are 10+ miles of uphill like in Utah but they have some roads that get even steeper than ours. FWD wouldn’t cut it with even Blizzaks

He wants AWD. Modifying his checklist to suit yours isn’t the point.

Might get flamed for this one, but I would bet preowned 2016+ Mazda CX-9s are creeping down around the 20k range now. Yes, it’s a crossover, but it might be the best one for Jalops. Our main family car is a crossover, and I’ve driven others; the CX-9 feels more “car-like” than any CUV in my limited experience. You

2006-2009 Saab 9-5 Wagon is obviously the correct answer.

2012-2017 Buick Regal GS. Take it from a fellow Pennsylvanian that has one, its what you need. It fits your budget, its comfy, has decent power, available with AWD, and you won’t see a ton of them on the road every day.

You’re pretty smart.  Like Fredo smart.

According to the RI DMV website you have to fill out a form and get it notarized. Not sure how that’s “impossible”.

It’s really not hard for a current owner to get a new title from the DMV

If you like the way it looks, great. Just don’t try to convince yourself it has any performance credentials. Especially in a car like the GTI.

I’ve priced out a number of 2018 wrangler specs since you can get them for ~12-15% off MSRP already and they have excellent residuals for leasing (albeit shitty money factors).

That’s the joke of where the Jeep is today...

They make absolutley nothing I’m interested in”

I always get a kick out of discussions around GM. Whatever they do, there’s a large contingent that lambasts them for it. If GM stays in the sedan game, they’re dummies, behind the times, and about to go out of business. If GM exits the sedan game, they’re ceding defeat and about to go out of business.

Meanwhile, GM

GM sells most of their sedans in China. Which is why they’re still investing in the Malibu, Cadillac sedans, and Buick as a whole. They have the option of doing the same as Ford - just with China instead of Europe.

That’s not true of all. Most cases crossovers are worse in every way, especially gas mileage.

I work at a Chevrolet dealer and we can’t get Malibus off the lot. Cruzes? Sure. Impalas? Somehow, yes. Malibus? Good luck.

Um. Vista Cruiser? Caprice Wagon? None of these were cool. They were the practical crap hauler before the minivan and the CAFE derived SUV.

Station wagons (the big American ones) and minivans were NEVER cool. Even the large crossovers are questionable in their “cool” factor.

i love my elantra it is a really good car very competitive to all the competition you should go look at them.
