I am amazed Dunkin isnt in financial peril with COVID. It was common practice for outside sales people to stop into a business with a dozen donuts. I can’t imaging this isnt the case at other places.

This is a Dunkin’ Donut, the coffee shops that call themselves Dunkin are just a pale imitation of what once was a decent donut shop.

I remember when their doughnuts were made on prem daily, they were good back then for sure.

Dunkin sits squarely between grocery store and gas station donuts.

Would I buy one for myself when I am craving donut? Unlikely.

i recognize only 3 names out of that entire list.

Not only do I love his low key ways and his comfortable culinary skills, I also appreciate his little tips and tricks over the decades. My cousin is a Food Network addict and loves that circus.... I grew up on PBS chefs who are workhorses more than TV personalities and he is a good example.

I’d be curious to know how many individuals earning under $30,000 a year, fewer adjustments, have ever considered even used EVs.

Gwen Stefani? David, you are gonna need to turn in your Detroit Credibility Card pretty immediately. Please return your Olde English “D” gear, post-haste.

You’re not wrong, per say, but why was their competition incurring all of those costs? Because when they started the government said “you have to buy this medallion to do that kind of work”. The city limited the number of medallions they’d produce, and like all things with static supply and increasing demand the price

The problem is when you have outsiders looking to come on the scene as “disrupters” to the industry. What that ALWAYS means is, “what if we got in this industry, but didn’t have to deal with any of the taxes or regulations? We’d make a fortune!” Yeah, no shit, your profit margins are 10x better than your competition

Oh I agree NYC should be on the hook and no one else.

Good to know that I’m not the only one. I also heard that some restaurants use potato flakes to stabilize condiments like toum.

Artificially restricted supply led to artificially high price.  Which is not to say the supply should have been unregulated - there’s only so much room on the streets.

There’s so many shows I’ve watched basically on repeat while neglecting new shows. “Haunting of Hill House? Eh, I only have 30 minutes before ___, so I’ll watch [Community / Schitt’s Creek / The Office / Seinfeld / Friends].” I wonder if other people suffer from “I don’t want to think about what I’m watching”-itus

Now playing

I have a Samsung smart TV and a Fire stick - Peacock isn’t available as an app on either. Netflix, Hulu, Apple, CBS - all available. I’m not buying yet another device just to occasionally stream.

At some point, the cost of maintaining multiple services will exceed what somebody would otherwise pay for cable, which doesn’t make a lot of economic sense for someone trying to cut the cord.

Sounds like they’re going to create... a cable tv package?

Especially when you can watch all the episodes on Comedy Central for hours on end every single day.

It’s all about a good, new flagship show and a price low enough for me to forget I even subscribe to it when the monthly payment hits.
